That sort of stuff boils my piss too, and I don't understand why you would do that.ChrisW wrote: ↑Fri Jan 06, 2023 5:05 pm I once stopped at Lochnagar when I was on my own - surprisingly there wasn't anyone there either. Except that when I was half way walking around the perimeter I noticed a bloke and his young sun messing about right at the bottom of the crater...really annoyed me.

Still in the planning stage is a trip with one, poss both brothers. At the moment options range from Alaska to Sicily. So in other words, no idea!

Still in the planning stages, but NW Scotland with my bro in May, and a Euro trip with my mate Martin in September. 2019 was our last euro-fling and was 90% Spain 10% France (and included all 500+km of the N260), so we are probably looking at Germany/Austria this year. Can't wait...

If you're in the area make sure you go and see it. It's not at all touristy and is actually a bit in the middle of nowhere (it feels like that), and although it's just a bloody great big hole in the ground, when you see it and then realise that it was caused by a lot of TNT over 100 years ago, it makes you stand, stare, and think.
The little placards around the outside of the hole which have the letters and stories are very, very poignant, and done in a "just right" way. I found it very moving.

Poland, Czech and Slovakia for me this year.
All places I've ridden through before but hope to spend a bit more time this year.
I think Slovakia is a hidden gem. Great roads, amazing scenery and ...cheap! Perhaps like Croatia was 15 years ago before it got popular.
