Re: WSBK-Mandalika
We tend to forget Aegerter was a rookie last year when he won the SS championship comfortably and this year he blagged the Moto-e milkfloat title too. Not many folk win two championships in the one season. Impressive.
But yeah,the racing wasn't a classic.

Re: WSBK-Mandalika
Tbf he would have won both last year as well if it wasn’t for that silly penalty that he got, whether it was justifiable or not is another debate but very impressive to say the least.

Re: WSBK-Mandalika
Toprak’s qualifying time would have put him in 3rd place for Moto GP.
Moto gp were there in March and the track has been resurfaced since, still impressive though plus the fact he went over a second faster than JR. I’d be inclined to say the track temps were more favourable in March, 40 degrees versus 50 just now, well the session started just above 40 and got up to 51/52 ish.

Re: WSBK-Mandalika
Toprak deserves a shot at Motogp. If all were right with the world,he'd be on Morbidelli's bike.

Not sure what Bautista was playing at during the podium celebrations, from what I can gather he apologised after but still, wee prick

Mandalika Race 2: Toprak Razgatlioglu wins but Alvaro Bautista crowned WorldSBK Champion
Results from Race 2, round 11 of the 2022 WorldSBK championship at Mandalika, Indonesia.
Toprak Razgatlioglu has completed his second WorldSBK hat-trick of the season after winning Race 2 in Mandalika, but Alvaro Bautista has become the new world champion after finishing second.
Starting from pole for the third time this weekend, Razgatlioglu made a great start as he led into turn one. However, the lead changed hands just one corner later as Jonathan Rea went down the inside of Razgatlioglu.
After getting through on Andrea Locatelli for P3, Bautista handed the advantage straight back to the Yamaha rider after running wide at turn two.
As the leading quarter settled into their rhythm, Axel Bassani began closing in after setting the fastest lap of the race on lap four.
Lap four - splitting the two Yamaha riders once again, Bautista made his favourite overtake into turn 15 stick on Locatelli, who was then passed immediately by Bassani.

Keen to not let his rival get away, Bautista joined Razgatlioglu in getting ahead of Rea after a mistake from the Kawasaki rider opened the door [turn 10].
Rea’s problems then got worse as Bassani took advantage of the six-time Superbike champion seemingly struggling for grip.
As Rea claimed back third spot from Bassani with a move at turn 12, Kohta Nozane became the first rider to crash after going down at turn 11.
Appearing to be faster than the leader, Bautista saw his opportunity to win the race and went for the lead at turn one.

Re: WSBK-Mandalika
Entertainment as always. I thought Loca did well as did Basanni
I'd still like to see a Honda or BMW able to mix it at the sharp end next year, but with 3 very quick boys on very quick bikes, that's a big ask.

Re: WSBK-Mandalika
I avoided any spoilers for today & was just looking around for a replay on catch-up. The thumbnail image for a race 2 was Bautista in golden leathers....!

Re: WSBK-Mandalika
Tbf he was 82 pts clear at the start of the weekend and 77 at the start of the day so not much of a spoiler.
Disappointed in Alvaro after the spraying of the champagne over Toprak yesterday, a bit disrespectful.
Also, I think it’s clear to see that when you’re on a track that doesn’t have long straights then he doesn’t win, he can ride and ride well, love his style, great to watch but if it weren’t for the power of that Ducati then he wouldn’t be winning.
Too many mistakes from JR and TR earlier on in the season, when Toprak got the finger out he’s been unbelievable, by far the most exciting and gifted rider to watch, his style is the most entertaining, love it.

Re: WSBK-Mandalika
Most of the sprint race was epic, maybe we need three of those on a weekend.
It'll be interesting to see what the format throws up in Motogp next season.
