The Speed Twin almost looks nice (IMO) but the huge crankcase/gearbox stops it looking nice, the XSR (both 700 and 900) look like an awful mismatch of styles and like they need to be finished.Dodgy knees wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 5:34 pmI reckon the Triumph speed twin and the xsr 900 is where it's at, at the moment, tbh. Retro styling with a modern twist and a pinch of tracker, oh, and a tad quirky.v8-powered wrote: ↑Mon Jul 06, 2020 12:16 pm I reckon the trend for retro-styled bikes will continue, seems to be a drop in the demand for the high-end sportsbikes?
I've still got this hankering for a Triumph Speed Twin - will see how my business looks over the coming months and if good will treat myself

Re: 2021 bikes?
I think the XSR looks alright, but for me I like the sound of a bigger tank, better screen, centre stand (only ever had 2 bikes with them and the last was in 1999! ), comfier seat and if I could get a GT cruise control and heated grips. So I think I'm more likely to go full on middle aged and look for a Tracer.Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 11:44 am

Re: 2021 bikes?
My opinion of the looks of the XSR - the tank is too humpy, the lack of side panels and tail piece looks shit, the metal plates at the back of the seat look shitter. This is purely my opinion and obviously some people think they look good, and my idea of a good looking bike is firmly stuck in the 1980s and 1990s.

Well you're not alone as side panels and seat humps seem to be the 2 most popular cosmetic mods for these and they make a real difference IMO.Julian_Boolean wrote: ↑Tue Jul 07, 2020 4:01 pm My opinion of the looks of the XSR - the tank is too humpy, the lack of side panels and tail piece looks shit, the metal plates at the back of the seat look shitter. Its also a bike which looks miles better in the flesh. The headlight doesn't look quite right in my eyes - too small and too deep. Apart from that, I could quite easily live with it, probably.
