Great bikes and ideal if you want a fast bike for what you ride.... I still think you should shoot over and try say mine and Julians to see if you'd prefer 29er or 27.5.... But if going 29er, then a Hightower is brilliant.Docca wrote: ↑Thu Jun 25, 2020 8:57 am I like that Cotic

So I’ve been looking for the Whyte T130 S in size M. Can’t find any. But spoke to one shop and they said in September they are releasing the new version, the T140 S same price just newer.
Waiting for the info to come out but might put a deposit down and have one. I can get a decent amount off via my works cycle to work scheme.

For what you ride there's only one answer - Whyte T130
Covers ground OK, great fun in the forest, will go large if you want.
Mines probably too small for you, Jules' will fit a treat. Blag a ride, then buy one.
Simple, sturdy bikes, lifetime guarantee on the bearings.
Beanie, Weeksy, myself - all had them.

Try and test ride ...
I never do but before bought the Cotic, i did.
Absolutely loved the Canyon Spectral - but the the frames started cracking.
Oddly, hated the T130 - felt heavy , short with a very low front end. And XL wasn’t very big.

Calibre bossnut evo and pocket £2k. You don’t need any more than that, a novice mtb’r jumped on one at bpw and kept up with all the experienced guys on more expensive bikes.

Whilst in some ways I agree, they're cheap and nasty, bearings, fixings, components etc.
Sure it works, but it's not a keeper.
His current Giant Anthem with decent bars and an hour with a service kit would destroy the Bossnut.
No cost, well, maybe £50
If picky, £60 for tyres too

That’s it sort the giant then, no need to spend £3k on a bike that’s only used on trails surely, of course wanting to is an acceptable reasonweeksy wrote: ↑Fri Jun 26, 2020 9:39 pm Whilst in some ways I agree, they're cheap and nasty, bearings, fixings, components etc.

I've got Shimano XT M8000 1x11 on my old GF Big Sur, really nice.
