Re: WSB Czech Republic
Interesting decision by the stewards to ban Aegeter from race 2 after apparently trying to pretend more injured to get race 1 stopped so he could restart it after the mass off at turn 1.
His actions meant the marshals were in the firing line when the field came through on lap 2 as he was hoping to force a red flag ….. which didn’t happen.
Race control will do a lot to avoid a restart as the start is one of the most dangerous parts of a race when so many things can go wrong

It made no sense to do that.Bigyin wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 3:34 pm Interesting decision by the stewards to ban Aegeter from race 2 after apparently trying to pretend more injured to get race 1 stopped so he could restart it after the mass off at turn 1.

Even if he was genuinely concussed then he wouldn’t make the restart and or race 2 and wouldn’t be allowed to race for x amount of days depending on age.
Pretending to be more hurt than he was just does the same as above albeit because he admitted to it he got just the one race ban.

Re: WSB Czech Republic
Did you catch the grid walk before race 2 with Charlie talking about “silly season”………the rumours in the paddock with regards to who’s potentially going where and who’s staying put etc?
Exciting times ahead if any of it is true. Apparently Ducati have told Petrucci that if he wins the Motoamerica championship then there’s a ride for him in WSBK, but the commentators were talking about a test he had done where he didn’t really go that quick, not as quick as Rinaldi but I’d be taking that with a pinch of salt as it’s just a test. That championship is wide open again after Jake crashed out of race 2 handing the win to Petrucci, so Petrucci is now 12 ahead I think with 3 rounds remaining (6 races).
Rumours of Gerloff going to Honda, wonder if that leaves the GYRT ride for Taz, FHO maybe running a bike next season……..exciting times!

Re: WSB Czech Republic
Lots of things racers do in the heat of the moment make no sense in hindsight. He was on course to take the most consecutive wins record so by playing possum thought he could get back on board and restart.wull wrote: ↑Sun Jul 31, 2022 4:59 pm

The stewards said he claimed to be concussed so that’s why they refused to let him restart so his team appealed showing video of the crash to prove his head stayed clear of the ground and his helmet was unmarked ….. after this the stewards called his bluff and he admitted he had pretended to be groggy to try and get the race stopped hence the change of the ban from concussion to unsportsmanlike conduct
Either way Dom made a bad choice after being skittles by yet another loon overtake attempt by Oncu keeping up the reputation he shares with his brother of causing chaos when they race, Chan in the WSB paddock and Denis in the GP paddock
