If the logo on the swingarm is separate from the lettering I'd start with that one and see if it leaves any visible evidence. Doubt they're under lacquer as the one on the screen won't be.

Just carried out its first commuting duty. This is where any problems will show up as this is what its job is, a bit like you guys getting a bike but not really unleashing it fully to you get on the track, Wull exlcuded obvs!

The first thing I noticed was the seat isn't comfortable and I was getting a bit of a numb bum. This may be a case of just getting used to it, or of course there is the Yamaha comfort seat or many aftermarket options. I'll give it a week or two to see how things work out.

These bikes are known for a twitchy throttle, but I think its just uber responsive! I nearly hit a van up the arse as I went to shoot forward into a gap! B mode calms things down but its also bloody horrible as there is a real delay in the revs coming off idle. I guess that will be reserved for use in the rain and I'm sure I'll get used to the throttle response soon.

The engine is sublime. Really tractable and surprisingly smooth. I've not owned many bikes that don't give me numb fingers in the throttle hand but no sign of that with this bike, or at least not so far? Sitting in 50mph average speed check area in 6th and the mearest whiff of throttle and it just pulls cleanly, no bogging down at all. I had a couple of sections of open road as I pulled away from the lights, so gave it some! Wow that horizon starts coming at you fast! It also made me think HTF do you guys cane a lot more powerful bikes. I just don't think my brain can process that kind of information!

I have read these bikes have soft suspenion and being on the heavier side of fat, I was expecting it to be bouncing about, but not so? I saw it's adjustable on the top of the forks and they look to be at different settings? I'll read the manual later and put everything to standard I think?

Early days yet but seems a very useable bike and it feels like chucking a moped around after the X-ADV and that engine!! I really need an exhaust on it though. One with a db killer, but a bit louder than the OEM one. I'm reminded of when weeksy had the XSR though and how hard it is to put an after-market exhaust on there that doesn't look a bit gash? Maybe I'll suffer the looks though as I cant see it when I'm riding it, but I can hear it!

On my GSXS the pause between opening the throttle and the bike responding at very low rpm is caused by the traction control, turning it off gets rid of the slight pause.

It's only in B mode I notice it, but I think that is the point of B mode, to give a slower throttle response? But it almost feels like it's not going to respond, at least or that split second or compared to the other modes. Can't see me ever turning TC off!
