I was still racing a good LC350 in 83 and the power valves were only marginally better.
Standard there's about 5bhp difference, tuned there's sod all difference on top end power, YPVS has a little more mid range, the engines are very similar, YPVS is 20 kilos heavier, but it handles a lot better (IMO)

Nice, tbf,its all good! I used to have allspeeds on my RD and my mate had Microns on his X7. His were louder but I preferred the sound of the allspeeds? I'd take any these days. I really would love a smoker again, but doubt I'll actually bother getting one...

Is it possible to embed sound files on the forum? I have some of the old Stanley Schofield TT sound recordings digitised that some folk might like to hear.

Oddly enough, the local Oxfam books/music shop has a vinyl disc on display of TT sounds. If anyone is interested in such a thing I can pick it up and post it if it's not flown off the shelf. :D

They had a TT sounds LP

I've just ordered the CD box set of 1958-1968 from Duke video. It has probably the best 10 years of bike sounds ever. Plus interviews with some true greats. Half price compared to ebay (if you don't include postage, ahem...)

You should put them on your phone and play them through helmet speakers when riding.
