One Q- have either have you had the usual online briefing email? as I haven't had one yet, albeit I've only booked the place 2 mins ago.

Looking at the schedule, I'm wondering if they have now stopped the online one, as they've got a briefing in it @ 08:20- shame in a way if they have.

Right. I'm off into the garage now to put the new(to me) calipers and MC on the ZX, give it a once over and load up while I can , as we're off out for the night in a bit.

I’ll do my best to find some space for all of us but they’ve stopped us using the helipad so the small car park is normally pretty busy. I’ll be there at 7.30 and will set up the gazebo and spread out.

I got to prem at 6.20. Set off at 2pm. Was going scenic, but so bloody hot i jump on motorway but in the wrong direction. Ffs. Got lost as the sun was shining of sat nav and couldn't see fuckall. Ended up on A45 I think. Anyway, sat in beer garden now with my best friend Stella.

Home at 6.50 and another good day at Bedford. @dern bike wasn't happy and went home early, @Tricky had a little issue this afternoon, I'll let him explain himself . The MT was happy and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Burger lunch, plenty of water and a nice little set up with @dern gazebo between the vans.

Excellent day had, Pembrey next.

As Dodgy says, an excellent day was had today with him and @dern , God even provided a nice gentle breeze for us to keep us cool(ish).

Real shame that dern's grren bike went sick forcing him in to an early bath, as track conditions were nigh on perfect, but was great company and we were both very grateful of the shade that his gazebo provided.

As for my green bike, it was pretty much faultless, save for a couple of minor(ish) issues caused by my sausage fingers/old man eyes (more detail in this thread here http://revtothelimit.co.uk/viewtopic.ph ... 65#p181665 if you're interested).

And the actual track time- brilliant- I'm really getting to like Bedford, the paddock/pits thing is a minor ballache, but the circuit itself makes up for it, it really is quite a fun place with as yorick says, a couple of great fast corners
Today my group was a bit of a mixed bag- I had some absolutely great sessions with some real session-long battles, and wore my Garmin for one which confirmed both that I was working hard, and that an indicated 170mph (that's on the limiter in 6th with 1T down on front sprocket) is actually 153mph ( I round up )



Alongside that, I also saw (and should have on vid) at least 5 different people go grass-tracking ( 3 at the end of the main back straight) throughout the day, but thankfully we only had 2 red flags all day that I counted- both in my group, with one of them caused by thr very keen, and IMO somewhat optimistic chap in the clip below- the instant he came up the inside of me I was pretty sure how it was likely to end up, and for the few nanoseconds when his tyre let go and he and his bike were flying across the track in front of me I was thinking aww fuck, I'm gonna hit him or his bike and break my bike/ maybe hurt myself and this isn't even my fault!

Thankfully though neither happened, and he wasn't seriously injured either, albeit he's got a broken bike and I'm guessing he'll be aching a bit tonight, but C'est la vie- that's how we learn eh

Anyway, fingers crossed that dern's 636 problems are easily solvable , and roll on Pembrey!

Just going by mine...if I hit 182 I would be (Resting/sleeping 51bpm, highest recently, slogging up a v steep hill 151).

We've got very similar resting HR figures, but my top end does seem to get a bit higher than most for my age I think- having said that, the particular session I wore it for was at the extreme end of things- I don't normally try that hard but it was hectic and I was in amongst it from the very start and trying hard, and it was 29 degrees which probably doesn't help either...



By comparison, in 10k/ HM running races, I'd always average 150/160 and peak in the 180s, but in my 3rd ( and most definitely final ever! ) marathon a couple of years back, to do the time I wanted and try and make sure I didn't fall off the cliff halfway through , I applied a bit of science and rather than just do my usual and run pretty much as fast as I could until the end, I ran to HR , keeping it to 150 or below and it worked (suprise surprise eh )
But that was then- my knackered old man joints mean that as of the end of last year my running days are definitely behind me now, so I've taken up pedaling- nothing too serious or long (yet, anyway), just 30-45 mins or so every morning to try and keep a bit of fitness and the effects of beer and enjoying what I eat in check -this is my usual pedal from a couple of mornings ago- it's bastad hilly everywhere you go around me, so keeps the heart pumping, and my calves warm



Anyway, bit of topic creep there, I probably should be posting this in the fitness/cycling section I guess, so back to Trackdays

True, I did wander off-topic a bit.

But you have probably skewed their 'Cycling' stats....152.6mph.
