Now I know more about it, maybe I was a bit harsh.
But cyclists are still moaning gits Should hear the abuse they shout during the Ironman events I've done
Oh yes, they/we really are... often. Even so much so that they irritate me, despite me being one of the most patient overtakers on the planet and waiting for massive gaps. But if you put yourself in their/our shoes, sometimes the things we have to put up with on the roads are ridiculous, people overtaking with only 2 options, 1 to crash into a car, 2 crash into a bicycle, they're going to take option 2 every single time.
But cyclists at times don't help themselves with the public i will 100% agree.
Is the event meant to be a race or just a ride ? If it’s not a race what’s the issue ?
Depends on your interpretation. It's an event on road bikes on a closed road with a start and a finish.
Well a race is a defined start and finish and is officially timed, if it hasn't got that then it's not a race and they should stop moaning and enter a proper race

Probably not man enough. Like folk who only do trackdays

LOL you can bet your arse if you can do 22mph average you'll have dabbled in racing

That was quick
I'm not working at the moment as i'm off out cycling to not do 22mph in a minute
I'm just watching my pal applying third coat of varnish to the bar wood pieces.
A fly landed on one and when he scraped it off, it scratched right down to the wood.
And yes, many people are inconvenienced by the noise. It's a different inconvenience, but still exists.
Done forget that despite a minor inconvenience, every person who registers to ride, pledges to raise £600 for charity.
Trackdays don't raise a lot Cycling doesn't pollute either..
i'm not a car owner and its for only for a day -its quite disruptive though for some people
Granted i'm sure it is... but it's not like it's a shock.... Bank Holidays seem an inconvenience to many with closing of the shops and people need to stack up on 3 months worth of shopping for the weekend. Train/Rail closures are also inconvenient. But not only is this 1 part of 1 day, it's a lot of people raising a lot of money to help others out...
I agree with you - the local papers have tales of woe
At the end of the day, i don't much give a monkeys about it all. It's not a ride i'd venture into and not a speed that will or would affect me.
But it all seems a bit daft and a bit dangerous.
There's reports that apparently they're completely disagreeing with the 22mph statement that was in their number pack/joining pack. It's interesting (to people who care anyway) to see how this one plays out.

Cool! Was it good?
It was very good, because not many people care about a ladies cycle race it was very easy to get a great view all around the circuit even the start and the ladies are far more grateful for the fan support than the men IMHO
