No, but... I'm 6'3" and ADV bikes generally fit best, I have no interest in going off road.

My missus loves the pillion comfort on the Multi as does Trickys other half as he bought it with her in mind for 2 up riding. Funners from VD who you might remember does shitloads of miles 2 up with his missus on their Multi.

The top box also helps with the pillion comfort . The one in the ad you linked has had the expensive service already done so bear that in mind when looking for one

When i bought my first Multi i took the missus with me to the BMW dealer and Ducati dealer and we rode the 1200 LC and Multi back to back ........ i secretly wanted the Multistrada as everyone should own a Ducati at least once but i was torn between the 2 as i already had a GS and was looking to go newer and better but SWMBO said after 5 minutes on the pillion of the Multi it was better for her than the GS

I've got a Givi Trekker topbox that would fit that plate too!

the only thing that puts me off the Multi is the lack of shaft drive... I think I'm getting old :(

Get a test ride booked, it's very you, and also do you want people to think you're a Charlie Goodman wannabe?

Charlie Goodman? Didn't he do a travel programme with Ian McGregor? Or was he the judge on Strictly?

I'd have a R1200/1250 R or RS over a GS. I just prefer the looks. Plus I saw 3 GS's parked up last week (1250) and they are as wide as a small car!

I suspect I'd want a multi over a GS as well and funnily enough I hear less reliability stories with Ducati than Beemer.

Either way well done on the clearance. I ask the Mrs about bike purchases too, we are after all a partnership with the costs we incur

I think the multi is the ultimate do anything bike, but you can tell I'm getting old because I think I'd prefer a shaft over a chain!

I'm turning into my dad.

I've just spotted that Robinson of Rochdale are doing base model Versys 1000's for just over £10k, that's a lot of brand new bike for the money... but I think I'd prefer a twin (or a V4).

Top of the list so far...

2016, 14500 miles.

Alpine edition (white with black engine and shaft and spoked wheels)

Factory options...

Keyless
Spots
Led headlight
Led indicators
Sat nag prep
Cruise
Heated grips
Fancy leccy suspension

Aftermarket...

Give rack/box
Hugger
Bash plate
Centre stand bash plate
Headlamp protector
Touratwat hand protectors.

It's minty mint.

Waiting for a call back when they've found the book pack to prove the service history and when the sales guy has rung his boss to see if they'll take my offer.

She did take a proper fancy to this... The GS just edged it on comfort... Which is for the best as it was 4k over budget.

I’d have the new versys at £10k tbh. I liked mine a lot, they are very good for an IL4 and handle ace

I pointed at a Versys in the shop today, I told the wife "I could get a new one for £10k, but'...." the wife then complete the sentence by saying "but it's a Kawasaki".

I have ridden one of them and the engine is smoother than my older 1200 and it comes with the QS as standard as well as more power etc.

I have to laugh as I bought my first Multi after the missus and I visited the local Ducati dealer on the way to a night away for my birthday and I saw the Multi. I had always had a lot older cheaper bikes and she said “fuck it, if you want it,get it, as you can pay it off in full in 4 years time” … first time I ever spent more than 5 grand on a bike

The most I ever spent on a bike was when I bought a brand new R6 when I was 21 in 2000. It was £6k.

Spending 10k on a frivolous toy is quite scary. I'd rather that than a new kitchen tho'
