I didn't think to check here while I was there :(

Yesterdays result was great I was so happy for Girmay. this first black African to win a grand tour stage and now I see the poor bugger has had to pull ot because he hit himself in the eye with the champagne cork!!

If it wasn't so tragic it would be funny. Me and @crust saw him win the Gent Wevelgem, he can ride that's for sure.

Got to be the might of Cav for todays win ? Or certainly right up there you'd think.

Yeah, him or Caleb Ewan.
Ewan seems to be struggling, dropped solo yesterday and almost missed a split today, well, technically he missed it and DeGhent had to pull hard to get him back

I thought it was an epic end to a stage, all the big names just firing off the front. Looked like a lovely road, proper swoopy. The finish was superb, big applause to Mathieu Van der Poel for the sporting thumbs up, such a lovely gesture.

Girmay is such an exciting prospect, to hold that much power for that long

Got to feel sorry for him, big crash? Mechanical? nope, nailed by the prosecco cork :o

Not the first either, Van der Poel got hit earlier on in the Gro.

It was a great finish .... and I thought Van der Poel's reaction was very touching ... I was at the podium when VdP hit himself with that cork ;)

i think VdP just really enjoys the battle, whether he wins or not, he loves the insanity and the pushing limits, you can see it in how he rides.

I do wonder if he hadn't gone for it 7km out, would have had a bit more at the end and won ?

Great effort from Yates for that, tough pull off the front there. Obviously way out of the running for the overall.

Hindley or Carapaz looking likely
