Don't quote me but believe that the ECU sees low voltage due to excessive power draw by the starter motor, so shuts off the ignition causing no start. Strong battery and associated cabling required to help.....

That's to stop it not turning over fully, back firing and taking out the sprag, iirc.v8-powered wrote: ↑Thu Mar 17, 2022 3:01 pmDon't quote me but believe that the ECU sees low voltage due to excessive power draw by the starter motor, so shuts off the ignition causing no start. Check draglink bearings. Mine are totally shot on my 2001 Speed Triple.

Re: Speed triple 955i
My one went through a spate of refusing to start when hot. No warning lights or other symptoms, it would just merrily spin away and not catch.
I say "went through a spate"...it would still do it, if it weren't for the fact its laid up in my garage.

Dyslexic sprag clutches are a real pain, it does not know if it is in the right order or not.

Re: Speed triple 955i
Looking to replace the standard starter circuit cabling with some heavier gauge. Can find a kit for the tiger 1050 on square deals website but nothing for the 1050.
Anyone able to recommend some suppliers to check?
Thanks
