Re: My next bike
Good shout. Although they get rave reviews I've never really wanted a Triumph. But can't put my finger on why. In theory it's perfect but don't seem to float my boat.

Re: My next bike
I like the idea of the R Nine T. The Urban GS model. I suspect they're dead wee and nesh in the metal though. I looked at and excluded the CB1000R on that basisKungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 4:59 pm If someone told me I had to buy a bike tomorrow, i'd be 50/50 between 2nd hand Z900RS' and R Nine-T's.
Still considering a Honda 250 or 300 Rally, African Twin or X-Adv.

US Import 60/70's CL350/360/450 would suit you :pAsian Boss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 7:31 pmI like the idea of the R Nine T. The Urban GS model. It's a lovely thought. I think I fancy something modern though.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 7:33 pmUS Import 60/70's CL350/360/450 would suit you :pAsian Boss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 7:31 pmI like the idea of the R Nine T. Re: My next bike
My last 3 bikes have been a 2008 690 , 2008 street triple, and finally a 2015 mt09.
Looking back I'd say the street triple was the best balanced bike of the 3. The KTM had lovely suspension and handled perfectly but I always felt the motor was a bit lacking if out on longer rides , the mt09 motor is superb but it sometimes felt a bit much, and the street triple was somewhere in between like Goldilocks porridge

Re: My next bike
I wouldn't thank you if you gave me a Triumph. I don't really know why, I just find them a bit meh.
My NC700X had more character than the Tiger 800 I owned.
I've ridden quite a few and the only one I quite liked was the 650 Daytona, the one before the 675.

Re: My next bike
The 765rs I tried was nice. In some ways things like the bars and risers feel a bit cheap, but was a nice easy bike to ride.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:19 pm I wouldn't thank you if you gave me a Triumph. I don't really know why, I just find them a bit meh.

Somewhat amazingly I also don't really like Triumphs and my pick of the lot was also the 650 Daytona.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:19 pm I wouldn't thank you if you gave me a Triumph. I don't really know why, I just find them a bit meh.

Re: My next bike
I rode the MCN (or was it Pb?) long termer to some illegal industrial estate "racing for pinks" type thing followed by the Chelsea Bridge bike meet, then raped it across London in the early hours of a very warm summer night, jumping reds and wheelieing past (closed) schools.Asian Boss wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:30 pmSomewhat amazingly I also don't really like Triumphs and my pick of the lot was also the 650 Daytona.KungFooBob wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 8:19 pm I wouldn't thank you if you gave me a Triumph. Re: My next bike
Interestingly I've heard 3 journos say as a road bike they'd choose the R or even S over the RS as its power is made higher up and it's suspension more track focused.
They seem to have sold shit loads more RS's though and they look very cool.
It's just if I want a Triumph. No idea why but they make me feel like most people do about KTMs. Also seem to recall they have expensive 12k mile service. I'll happily have a Jap 24k mile valve service interval next.
Seems I'm not alone in not feeling Triumphs though. Odd

Re: My next bike
The noise they make is frankly orgasmic. Not sure if they are in budget though for the age/milage I'd want
