That dropper ain't going to fly then matey. Whilst i've seen people have drilled frames, it's certainly not something i'm comfortable doing to a bike. Hmmm and hmmmm and let me think of a plan and look at your frame a bit more.

The reverb is a non stealth. Doesn't need any holes on the frame, just tie wrap the hose to the frame...

Oh, that changes everything. LOL... I thought it was internal.

Ok, DOcca, no problem at all then mate :) I just need to grab the bleed kit from Crust and my Reverb Fluid... Once i've got that, i'll get it sorted and we can fit it :)

Thanks again Mille :)

millemille wrote: Fri May 22, 2020 9:32 am I've got a 30.9mm dia, 125mm drop, Rockshox Reverb (not the Stealth, so with the external hose routing) dropper post sitting around unused. It needs a service as it drops under load but if it's of any use it's yours for the cost of postage...
weeksy this post would have been the clue, you donut!!!!!

Given you'd not spotted the basics, has anyone checked that 30.9 is the correct diameter for the Giant frame?

SHould be seeing Crust this weekend to get my bleed kit from him. Once i get that i'll see if i can get the post 100% with some tips and tricks from the internet... If so... then i'll be good for Sunday... or anytime after that... If i can't get it 100%, then we'll have to discuss and see what options are out there.

Worst case, it'll either cost you £70 or £80 for us to send it off for a rebuild.

Well i'm afraid the dropper is beyond my skills.

I've done all i can but i think the seal in the bottom end is allowing air in/out which means i'm fighting a losing battle unless someone with more skill than me wants a try. Crust looked into a rebuild kit and with kit plus a couple of tools needed it's coming in at £40-45.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RockShox-Rev ... 1438.l2649

This place seems to charge £42.50 to repair/rebuild the dropper... Which TBH, make a lot of sense.

Plan B is something like this.

https://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mob ... e_id=78888

Which is more expensive, but 2 years warranty and non-hydraulic.

Really appreciate you trying mate. Much respect.

My priority now is tubeless tyres and tbh it was just a good reason to come and say hi. Shift efforts into the tubeless pot and ill park the dropper dilemma until next month?

Sure mate, we can do the tubeless stuff when you like.
