NAh, it'll be lovely again tomorrow morning. We've been out playing in the muddy slop so both bikes are once again filthy, i can't be arsed sorting today though, so that'll be pre-work in the morning.

Washed mine, so it'll be imminent bearing failure through the bike next week.

50km of mucky messy and windy dirt riding with @crust today. It was bizarre that everywhere seemed to be into a headwind!!! Hilly too. Although at times it felt hillier as there was only really 2 hills, 1 early on and 1 late. I thought the late one may have killed him off but he did well.

You should both give the Saturday Banjo ride a go. Get some drafting practice etc. they regroup after any kind of hill and it’s pretty informal. 16 out today.

It was roads though, which to be honest neither of us wants or enjoys, especially in the UK.
As you've seen we've done 99% of our training on Zwift or mud,
We're both of a very similar mindset and riding west Berks lanes really isn't on the cards.
Yesterday we saw very few humans, we sort lots of random fields, paths and guesswork routes, that's more where we enjoy ourselves.
For me, it was nice to ride and not be faced with the grim reaper

Trying to summon up the enthusiasm to go out today - but the promise of heavy rain and 60 mph winds may well win.weeksy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:26 pm 50km of mucky messy and windy dirt riding with @crust today. I hear that, I draw the line at wind and rain unless it's a booked and paid event.Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 9:37 amTrying to summon up the enthusiasm to go out today - but the promise of heavy rain and 60 mph winds may well win.weeksy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:26 pm 50km of mucky messy and windy dirt riding with @crust today. the dogs is going to get walked round the block - and then a decision made. But it is cold, with a cold wind - add in rain and the spin bike looks like it will be the choice of the dayweeksy wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 9:42 amI hear that, I draw the line at wind and rain unless it's a booked and paid event.Mr Moofo wrote: ↑Sun Feb 13, 2022 9:37 amTrying to summon up the enthusiasm to go out today - but the promise of heavy rain and 60 mph winds may well win.weeksy wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 5:26 pm 50km of mucky messy and windy dirt riding with @crust today. Yeah but you’re training for a ride where you’re hoping for some drafting. A few sessions with a big group will drastically improve your efficiency at doing it.
That could potentially save you 50-75w! V training alone to maybe improve 5-10w….

Re: 2022 Riding, mileages and pictures.
Rubbish week this week, night shifts and lack of sleep have robbed me of all motivation......and the weather has turned the trails to mush and doesn't look like improving.

10 mile post nights dog walk, I was too tired/lacking coordination to ride.

A quick 10 miles with the lad after work last night and we went to look at the clearing work that the forestry have done due to tree disease.
There used to be half a dozen or so cracking trails running through here

Wow... that's pretty brutal in terms of tree management. But i guess they know what they're doing and it was for the overall health rather than just because they were doing it for profit reasons.
Re: 2022 Riding, mileages and pictures.
It does look brutal and they've done the same all over the forest. In a section close to home they've replanted within a year and to save on having to put plastic protectors around each tree, they've fenced off the entire plantation. Chicken wire around the bottom 2ft or so and about 8ft high in total to stop deer jumping over the top.
I expect they'll do the same here. A happy by-product for the FC is that it'll keep us out as well

Was aiming to go out today - but the deluge at 11 am will mean the Downs are like a very muddy skating rink. And the 38 mph NW wind doesn't help.
I'll go tomorrow instead !
