Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
If I could afford a Britten I'd make damn sure I rode it a bit and thats the same for most of the bikes on this thread so far.
This one however I can't see my way to riding about, for reasonably obvious reasons.

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
There was one out on track doing demo laps at the circuit at Invercargill when I was there in 2019 for the Burt Munro Festival of Speed. Andrew Stroud was riding it.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Dec 24, 2021 12:41 pm Britten V1000
I think you'll only ever find one in a glass case anyway.
I've got pics somewhere.
FWIW, Andrew also has a 'fake' Britten built around a VTR1000 as a road bike.

I've seen Brice Anstey doing laps at Jurby, before it broke down.

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
Just found some photo's of one of the Brittens at Jurby,it was popular
I think the other one was a yellow & white bike brought over by an American BOT racer,I'll have a look if I have any images of it

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
I'd swap my 09 for one.
Shouldn't need a mudflap either. Nice.

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
A 1960s Honda racer- TBH it could be almost any of them as they are all beautiful but the RC162 would be my first choice;- it's significant to me as it was the bike that won Honda their first TT with Mike Hailwood aboard and that was in the year I was born- this one would be perfect
- it would join its younger little brother which already lives in the house on the upstairs landing

Re: Two Wheeled Sculptures
I spent a couple of hours chatting to the race mechanics at the team headquarters in Carlisle Road (Street?) in Christchurch in December 1995.Bustaspoke wrote: ↑Sun Dec 26, 2021 6:03 pm Just found some photo's of one of the Brittens at Jurby,it was popular

They told me they were racing at Manfield Park in Palmeston North the following week, and to pop in to see them if I was there. So I went
I have lots of footage of the bike being raced (two wins and a second), but all still on VHS tapes.
A great bike, probably the best two wheeled sculpture ever made. But what do I know, except that art is a personal thing?
