The margins have to be massive though.

I've had some healthy discount in shops just by asking for some and at places like the old BMF Show people like HGB and Daytona where doing deals on current model Arai's and Shoei's for £150 less than RRP.

I suspect there's an element of price fixing, you have to sell it for what the importer tells you to sell it for or you don't get anymore... unless you advertise at RRP and sell for less (like at a show) or you don't get them from the official importer.
