I think the Tiger 1200 is (maybe was by now) the last remaining production line at Hinkley.

RE - just - at the top of the list. European quality 'varied' (BMW good, Aprillia & Ducati not, others in between).

One bike from each manufacturer. That's it.

The gist is that the one Chinese bike had an incredible amount of crud (of various sizes and types) in the engine, that hadn't been removed by the filter.

Edit: the other gist is that the crud was contamination 'added' during assembly, not from engine wear.

It wasn't supposed to be a definitive study, just interesting if you wanted to watch it. It's just a small sample size of first service oil samples, nothing more.

Being patriotic was the last thing I thought about when I bought my Thai built Street Triple.
I don't buy any of that 'heritage' bllx from Triumph.They should be called BLOOR'S
The only thing they have in common with the Meriden bikes is the name on certain models
If I was buying a bike to be patriotic,(something I've never done), I would be looking CCM or Norton.

Patriotic?!?!?!?!
Probs not, but I did enjoy riding a British bike made in Britain when I had my Triumph, same for my CCM's, even though they were both spattered in Italian parts, and the CCM's had a Japanese lump.

I also like that my Harley is an American built one, albeit with a Mexican loom.

My BSA A65 was all British. No foreign muck on it. It was bloody awful but then I think most British bikes of the 1960's were. No wonder riders quite quickly took to Japanese bikes and their much better build quality and reliability.

The bikes I currently own;

One built in India (Indian branding)

One assembled in UK from parts made in one of three factories based in Thailand (British branding)

One built in Spain (Japanes branding)

One built in Japan (Japanese branding).

Not really concerned where they are made, as long as they are reliable. All of the above four bikes I own are.

It amazes me that so few people are concerned about the CCP and their plans for world domination. They have been at it successfully now for almost 40 years and even have a foothold in the Whitehouse with the Biden mafia.

The only saving grace is the former "one child policy" which has carved the hole in their population they are suffering from currently. We all knew at the time that this "one child" was going to be a boy and a suspicious skew in the "birth rate" of girls is more accurately a suspicious skew in their survival rate. This authoritarian dictatorship has now decreed a three child policy...

Despite being totally evil, they are not stupid and have invested heavily in the worlds resources. So much so that even if you want to "compete" with the CCP you're probably going to have to buy your raw materials from them, including all the worlds rare earth resources needed for battery production for example. Damned clever those Chinese.
