I've had a Daytona 900 and two Sprint RS 955i's. Loved them. They do require tender care, but if looked after they go on forever. I'll be checking the rear hub once I've got the Abba stand. Coils and sparks too.

What about a Koso unit to tidy up the bars ? .

Aaah right. they do look good, but I'll stick to the analogue

The three analogue gauge set up suits the bike, a little digital cluster is from the wrong era.

You are right - best left for specials.

I'll see what I can put together though. Brakes are decent, brake fluid is dreadfully manky. At the moment I don't really have any spare time due to church commitments, but I will find and hour or so tomorrow to sort that much out. Oh, and I need to insure it, £140 for the year FC.

14 hours "work" today, out from Friday to Sunday evening on university residential. At least I'm not preaching!!!!

The BMW was an awesome bike, but just to quick for me! Simple as that. I like a slower bike that I can use properly on the roads without stressing about how easy it is to go so fast! I've also always loved a SP3 and this ticks the boxes nicely

Getting the little cover/fairing on the front of tank - the one which covers the expansion tank - is always the tricky one for me, I have to hold it in place while a helper actually does the screws up.

Spot the difference.... took me all of 5 minutes to do the front calipers. Waiting on Abba stand to be delivered this afternoon to do the rear one.





Little jobs make such a difference!!

LED dips, mains and high beam now installed. Easy enough with patience and fiddling!! I'll trim the rubber boots and refit later on. This is a fair weather bike only!

Nah, they all look like that. Looks better when properly upright. On side stand, so it does look squif!

It's 'cause the lights are straight on the frame but the forks obviously have the rake, so when the forks move side to side the angle twixt them and the lights changes. All bikes with frame mounted lights do it (so that's nearly all bikes then!) but I guess the bug eye arrangement here makes it more obvious.

And I am wiping down the various metal bits with ACF50. Brakes have been given a squirt of cleaner. Chain needs a good clean and lube and adjustment, but I will dig out the C Spanner for that. I have one somewhere I think....

Just been out for a quick ride on dual carriageway and to get the bike to stretch its legs a bit. Bloody lovely!! I do like a Triumph Triple, it has that tractable smooth power and was picking up the front wheel in second on hard acceleration. Lovely! It does need a good going over and a jolly good deep clean, but on the whole it is not a bad buy for the money and with a lot of elbow grease it will turn out quite nicely. Will never be "perfect" but it will be very usable and huge fun for me to ride. Got to enjoy life in what we chose to pursue! Ride safe all.

I know it's against the grain of some people but I like having a bike that's not mint as I'm not worried about keeping it that way so more likely to do that dry winter ride or go out when it might rain etc. Whereas now I view things through the prism of potential 1.5-2 hrs cleaning that might follow said ride and don't go.
