Loved my 08 Thruxton 865. Sorry to see that one go. As unique a sound as a Harley to ride. You certainly know what marque you were riding!

Slow's relative. Yes, it would happily trundle along at motorway speeds, but there wasn't much left, and it lacked anything much in the way of get up and go - my GS500 had more zip when revvedinewham wrote: ↑Fri Aug 27, 2021 5:41 pm I didnt think the 865 I had was slow, it would cruise along at 70~80 happily enough it just seemed to lack lack grunt and felt asthmatic and characterless.
With a claimed 59ft/lb torque @ 3500rpm I expected a bit more punch. Maybe i should have just wrung its neck and rode it like an RD250
