Fair enough, maybe I'm an argumentative arse and enter events that attract argumentative arses.

I'm sure you can buy a C90 for £300.

If you can find a C90 for £300, snap it up, they're silly money these days, I think for £300 it'll be a Chinese 125

I'm not sure I'd want to do the length of the country on it though

A Dullsville would be perfect. £450 and a haggle.

I'd love to volunteer as a rider, just not sure my arm/shoulder will be up for it by then. But you never know. If travel is freer, I could actually come back to the uk for more than a fleeting visit!!

Agree, that would potentially be a great sort of bike for it and is exactly the sort of thing it usually is- something with issues that needs a bit of fettling , is very cosmetically challenged and/ or has been to the moon and back already etc. -Skub wrote: ↑Sun Jun 27, 2021 4:58 pmA Dullsville would be perfect. £450 and a haggle.

People have done it on all sorts of bikes over the years- as Weeksy says, the bikes have often been old shitters put up by other forum members on exactly the basis he says, and it works as the people who enter it do it primarily for either the charity aspect or the personal challenge/ craic of the event rather than to " win" by finishing it in the least time, etc.

Loads of terrible shitters that would do for about 300€ in the freeads over here. FJs and XJs and the like mainly.

Having organised the very first LDDD (which went on to become the LDC) back in 2013, and took part as well - along with @porter_jamie - it's an experience well worth having.

Plenty around, tough as old boots and fit the shonky but reliable aspect nicely.
