Another glorious first for the Torries. The first ever man to have an affair with a work colleague.
They're humans, like most of the rest of us FFS.
True. Although most of us don't go on TV at 5pm every day telling us to not do what they are doing (against the very same guidelines that he was involved with setting).
Having an affair was just the way he got caught. And getting caught, with the publicity, was the only reason that he resigned (and, apparently, told his wife). [Or it was an amazing coincidence of timing]
Meh, he should have been sacked because of his corrupt dealings in handing out PPE contracts for hundreds of millions to party donars who mostly didn't provide PPE, being generally inept at his job and constantly lying.
Basically I think thats why he's going and he'll be back in a year or so when the heat has died down.
The goverment can say yeah he was crap but he's gone now and don't bother looking at all the other people in government who signed off on the spending.
The knobbing someone from work? Can't say I'm bothered about that, like I'm not bothered about other politicians doing it, just not my problem.

One of today's front pages claims that he was using a personal email address to conduct some of that business.
Under wraps since December. Another timing coincidence?

I'm not convinced this whole personal email address thing that so many politicians fall foul of is nefarious. I think its more likely they're just technical spastics who don't grasp the significance of different email servers.

?
Bit of a stretch. Anyone who works at a desk job learns this in about 3 minutes, we're not talking about our 85 year old mothers FFS.
Who tf uses their work email for personal issues and vice versa?
Put it this way...mate of mine works in IT security for one of the big banks in London. Part of his job is monitoring the company e-mail systems used to make sure no one is sharing company data etc.
He knows who in the office is banging who, who's getting custody of the kids, how much people are paying for their new car, when their house sale is going through etc. Its such a common occurence that they have to have written company policy on what to ignore and what not.
Works the other way too, they know who is logging into what personal email and when.

You're the IT guy, the systems are designed to stop the financial guys. Generally they're different people.
The point you so adeptly managed to miss is that most people are NOT IT guys and make stupid IT mistakes.
Again...

So that rules nearly every politician out.
The point is not that people are smart enough to get around it. The point is that lots of people don't even realise it exists or fathom why the difference between which email address you use matters.
Trump did that too. IIRC the PoTUS is supposed to use a special Secret Service approved and security hardened Blackberry... which is so old skool it didn't do Twitter, so he kept using his iPhone.

You're a self confessed expert in everything you talk about.
But not in IT stuff. But carry on pretending you are.
DLP is a massive thing in the world of corporate IT, much more so in the last few years. It's all about security now, soz Yozza, but you is well out of date.
You'd not get past decent Endpoint protection software, active network packet monitoring and next generation firewalls. Even with your l33t h4x0r skillz.

I do keep up to date. Still keep my ear to the ground.

But, there are a lot more people that can't work out these things than can I reckon. I'm pretty good at using computers. Give me any program to use for work and if I've not seen it before I can use it well enough for work in a day or so.
I can't make a VPN work for watching stuff not in France and not fuck up everything else I want to watch that doesn't need a VPN!
I'm pretty sure most office people wouldn't be able to bypass security to work out how to send emails privately and not get caught (that was the question??!!)

That genuinely surprises me going by some of the daft questions you post on here- seriously- that's not a pop at you, I just don't think you know that much about much techie stuff.
If I'm wrong, show me I am by all means and I'll stand corrected

Do you think emails are the only way to send information?
Anyway, I'm busy watching footy and drinking beer.
