Aksherley, I have a theory: mentally, you stop getting older when life gets [to an indivdual's given value of] 'serious'. I suppose it's your brain saying "nah, don't want to do this, happy as I was".
For me, that was getting married, bigger mortgage, doing up a house, then starting a family, all in about three years.
I've tested it on a few people and, +/- a few years, it holds true.

The part of my brain that instigated pyrotechnical pranks still works as well at 61 as it did at 21, but now has a "wait a sec, someone could get hurt and/or you might end up in prison" filter... but it still brings a smile to my face when I have one of those "A quarter stick would be hilarious right now" thoughts.
I'm conflicted if this is a benefit or not, altho some of my friends probably think it is....
