Contaminated fuel?

Drain it and try some fresh stuff?

That's on the list before I have to take the fairing off, but why would it run fine above 4k if the fuel was ropey :geek:

I dunno, but ask yourself is it 4k or is it throttle position?

IF it's fuel related, think about how a carb works. It doesn't know what revs the engine is doing only how much throttle you have open.

So if it's at 4k regardless of gear/throttle opening, then I'd say it was more likely to be electrical.

Yup above 4k regardless of throttle opening it seems fine. Crank position sensors and coils are likely culprits on these triples apparently

So as time has not been easy to come by and space to work in the shed was reduced by the missus insistance on buying tat for the garden the Blue Pig got taken to the tame mechanic today. His immediate thoughts are fuel starvation and an inline fuel filter that doesn't appear to be helping things.

He's away for a week but at least I've got space to organise things in the shed for when it returns and I can start buggering about with making it look less like a skip
