Re: My Gtech Sport ebike
mate, it's not the seat, it's your arse... simple as that. Bikes only get comfortable after time in the saddle, no matter how lovely a seat it'll still be shite after 30 mins if only riding once a week.

That. Although having the right saddle helps a LOT.weeksy wrote: Fri May 07, 2021 10:16 am mate, it's not the seat, it's your arse... simple as that. Bikes only get comfortable after time in the saddle, no matter how lovely a seat it'll still be shite after 30 mins if only riding once a week.
And armchair saddles don't work. But non-cyclists/returning cyclists don't want to believe that something that looks like it has no padding works - but it works because they're designed to work with your sit bones - not all the padding around them!

Thanks Chaps, although the Gtech seat is changed by a lot of owners and generally criticised for being uncomfortable? I'll see where I am after some more saddle time...

Re: My Gtech Sport ebike
Had to fix some fence panel brackets yesterday. The house was about 2-3 miles away, so I bunged my tools in a backpack and cycled there. First time I've been on the bike since fitting the new seat and stem riser etc. Seat was certainly more comfortable but I could still do with the bars being higher, but still a big improvement. I beat the big hill again too so was feeling a might pleased with myself. I did find out a bizarre thing though, I can't stand up and pedal like I did when I was a kid! Completely lose my balance and nearly wobbled off each time I tried!

Get a proper saddle and raise it to the proper height.Taipan wrote: Fri May 21, 2021 12:27 pm Had to fix some fence panel brackets yesterday. I tried a 'comfort' saddle or two when I was commuting 30 miles a day. The pressure points were in the wrong place and I found thin racer type saddles much more comfortable for long rides.

Dual battery set up! 10 mile ride today so I shouldn’t need it, but just in case...

Re: My Gtech Sport ebike
Lol. Not even tight about being uncomfortable, so I guess the new seat is doing it’s job!
