Just out of curiosity... did his training school teach him counter-steering?
And I'd be interested to know the make and the model of the jacket. If he'd share photos (anonymously is fine) I'd like to have a look at the damage.
He did no training post test back in 2000. He rode 2000-2002 then nothing till last week. I mentioned about his foot position probably being the cause of the foot down and once I mentioned it he remembered, but he'd forgotten and same about anything else I think.
The jacket was this one.

Looked like the arm rode up and went through at the forearm, but that got the skin on his elbow if that makes sense. Else it was friction that gave him the very slight cut.
I was please (is that the right word?) that the bullit jeans were unmarked from the crash as I have a pair. His boot was unmarked funnily enough and glove just some scrapes.

As we came into Aylesbury the A41 has a roundabout and goes from dual carriageway to single
By the state of that roundabout, there's a fair amount of vehicles try to go straight over the middle

Mate was obviously trying to balance things up by heading for the outside kerb
In other news he said his Mrs didn't say much which he's taken as probably ok to get another bike. I'm not so sure! If he does I'm recommending stabilisers

Get him one of those massive cages that fit around the handlebars, that you see on training school bikes.

My recommendation to him was to go to Powerbiking and do a refresher course as I quote "If you drop it it'll be their engine bared up multi dropped school bike, not your shiny Striple/Monster"
On Sat night he was saying he definitely wanted another Striple. I'm not sure I agree.

Just filter flat out and push the cars apart like in Mythbusters

He's had a text to say it might not be dead.
He's looking into training either way

A refresher on the basics...
Had a nice day out with my trainee on my Egham routes today.

Mate got his bike back today all nice and fixed.
I recommended riding on some roads he knows and getting miles under his belt. He said he is looking into booking some training which is good!
