But you'll never comprehend the lower power fun. I had as much fun out on my 690 even at Silverstone as anyone on a 1000, it was ace. It was great locally too. There's a lot to be said for hustling a lower power bike round.

To be fair to Yorick I think he's questioning why bother tuning a 400 to 68bhp when it would cost less to just buy a more powerful bike. He used to race a power valve so I think he gets that riding a low powered bike is fun

Re: Yamaha R3
It's only the riding position that puts me off, it hurts my back and wrists but the main thing is it squashes my tackle against the tank with that leaning forward stance. Smaller capacity bikes is where I started on bikes and it's where I'm much happier, but I think my time on race reps is over, they're a young mans game.

You'll get Barry Boi in his chavved up Corsa / Fiesta trying to race you -Seriously, I did when I had my 390, I was riding it just about every day on the road for 6 months or so and it happened quite a bit
Also kids on 125s , usually with hideously loud Chinese exhausts, that was often funny, as I guess they thought it was a 125 too, or probably more likely as at that age you just want to try and race everything you see (as we did on our mopeds/250s/125s etc eh )

I thought that might be the case, though I rarely ride a bike when there are people about, I like to go out early for a 100 miles and be back by 09:00
