I was lucky when we went there. There was a highland games on, just a small affair. I popped in out of interest, saw a group of maybe 30 people looking at something, wandered over and then got to see Prince Charles from about 4 metres away. Turns out it was the games that the Queen Mother used to be chieftain, or something, of, and Charles was representing her after her death. I'm not much of a royalist, but it was interesting to see him so close up with apparently little security.

There are also some nice apartments you can rent if you want to stay for a night or two, which we did.
