Fat does not make you fat. That is a myth propagated by food companies when marketing so-called healthy low fat slimming foods. Interestingly, low fat foods are not very appetising so guess what is used to make them more so? Yep, you got it, sugar.

Sugar makes you fat. If you want to find out the truth read the below book which debunks the "fat makes you fat" marketing myth. Sugar has fueled the obesity epidemic.
Wiki wrote: Pure, White and Deadly is a 1972 book by John Yudkin, a British nutritionist and former Chair of Nutrition at Queen Elizabeth College, London.[1]

Published in New York, it was the first publication by a scientist to anticipate the adverse health effects, especially in relation to obesity and heart disease, of the public's increased sugar consumption.

At the time of publication, Yudkin sat on the advisory panel of the British Department of Health's Committee on the Medical Aspects of Food and Nutrition Policy (COMA).[2] He stated his intention in writing the book in the last paragraph of the first chapter: "I hope that when you have read this book I shall have convinced you that sugar is really dangerous."[3]

The book and author suffered a barrage of criticism at the time, particularly from the sugar industry, processed-food manufacturers, and Ancel Keys, an American physiologist who argued in favour of restricting dietary fat, not sugar, and who sought to ridicule Yudkin's work.[2] In later years, Yudkin's observations came to be accepted

Yep, sugar is carbohydrate, which turns into fat if you don't burn it off.
The human body can't digest fat that's eaten, it won't make you fat but it will clog your arteries.
I was taught this at school in the 70s and 80s, so hardly a mystery or new thing.
Low fat food is a marketing gimmick, not health food.

Sorry but that is bullshit. It's why the liver creates bile, to digest.... fat. If you didn't digest fat you would quickly die.

Also - our own milk is full of it, which would seem a bit redundant if we can't digest it?

If the digestive system could not digest fats then what would the pathway be for fats to get into arteries?

In any case, as said above a normally functioning digestive system can digest fats.

Cells need fat, they are partly made of fat, lipids... no fat, no cell signalling... body dies.

I sent my DNA to a company a few years ago and have a dynamic DNA profile. Reading it is a lot like reading my horoscope. From this, I know that my "stomach is more likely to expand after a meal, which hampers my feeling of fullness". Great! But I don't seem to have a bigger appetite than anyone else and I'm not overweight. It references the medical paper "Association of UCP-3 rs1626521 with obesity and stomach functions in human" and it is given one star for scientific reliability, meaning there's not been enough research.

One of my rellies goes on and on about white sugar being the root of their size. No, you eat and drink too much. TGranted, the reasons they do are complex, but as said above , if you eat more than you use you gain weight.

Says a fat bloke who eats and drinks too much and knows that's why he's fat and doesn't sugar coat it.

These DNA things are an utter con, they charge you to profile your DNA which they then sell to the highest bidder, and send you some utter tosh about what it means. Stuff like “your stomach expands when full” - no shit. 😂

Pint of water weighs a pound and a quarter. No idea if that's true, but it's the reminder we used when building a crafty craft for the local race.

When a litre of water is a kilo? Not really, the metric system is logical and relative.

Anyone talking about burning fat is talking bollocks.

The heat required to burn fat would cause one to spontaneously combust. You don't burn fat, you convert it.

I mean a US pint does actually weigh a pound, whereas a UK one doesn't.
