Not much to report due to lockdown, bike has been cleaned and is ready for the next outing. Honda have released a 300 version and first reports are showing a 15-20% increase in rear wheel HP and torque, sounds a lot but in reality it goes from 17-18 to around 21-22. A system and map takes that to 24 which is quite an improvement. It would mean I could run standard gearing making road cruising better with a 75moh cruise possible. It also comes with a bigger tank, better longer travel suspension and a bit less weight. All in all worthwhile improvements, mine is the first one the Honda dealer gets any time now 👍

I’ll be fitting tyres, HD tubes, heated grips, rack, USB power and a few other bits so it can replace the 250. Unsure what to do with the 250 as a lot of friends have shown an interest in coming out and it’s a great bike for them to have a go. I’ll probably sell it though come March/April time. Hopefully by then I’ll have put up some more ride reports 🏆😷

My 300 never turned up at Honda and they couldn’t tell me when so I cancelled it !

So back to the 250 and a Little bit of tinkering today, I’ve been using it to get to work and back a few days so I’ve swapped to a standard front sprocket. It was ok at 75 but near max revs so should make it better. Bars were slightly twisted as last off road it fell over 🤣. Sorted that too and I’ve ordered some 70/30 tyres so it’ll be better on tarmac and still fine on dry green lanes. Tbh I’ve been really enjoying it on tarmac, on roundabouts on the enduro tyres the rear moves with some proper lean angle and loads of throttle. Looking forward to trying it on more road biased tyres.
But surprisingly it has made 6 months 😱

I’m tempted by the new 300.

Seems to make more sense now 2nd hand prices have gone silly for just about everything.

I keep looking at these still, the 250 and the 300. I think I'd rather have one than an Africa Twin.
To a kid looking up to me, life ain't nothing but bitches and money.

I'd rather have syphilis than an Africa Twin, does that help?
