@weeksy I think your referring to the Street triple (like tricky's). The speed is physically quiite a bit bigger and has the 1050cc motor

Yeah i get it has the bigger motor... but thought the physical size was about same... As i say, maybe i sat on the wrong one. I rarely sit on Triumphs as they don't do anything for me

GSXS 1000 and 1000 quid saving for trackdays and tyres
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUZUKI-GSX-S ... 4364984538
After I starting looking more at Z900s, that led to GSXS 1000s and MT10s. The Suzuki isn't as nice or high tech but seems a bargain. Think they are under 10k new at the minute

Good shout... I don't like it myself, but that's a lot of bike for the money !Supermofo wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:05 am GSXS 1000 and 1000 quid saving for trackdays and tyres

Yes they are a bit drab, but tests all seem positive. If only they styled the bloody thing. I was looking at the 750 and whilst I don't want the power of the 1000, for not much more you get adjustable suspension, Brembo radials, proper current GSXR swingarm etc. It's now yet another bike on my list. But it's no looker.weeksy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:07 amGood shout... Not sure what blessing you mean. If its aesthetics, I don't care much for them as you can't see it when you're on it. If you mean sparkles and toys then no. Nada. Nuffin. Just two wheels and a very nice engine.weeksy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 10:01 amgod that's not blessed it is !!!Trinity765 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 9:57 am CB1000R. I would upgrade suspension.

Both/either really. It's not a pretty bike and lacking in nice bits... i'm not feeling it at all sorry.Trinity765 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:26 amNot sure what blessing you mean. Re: Best value big naked out there at the moment ?
I personally don't see the desire for naked. I love a fairing to keep the wind off and reduce the noise.
I fancy a Dragster like Iccy had, but would hate the wind problems on it.
But we're all different.

Re: Best value big naked out there at the moment ?
From my perspective it's riding position, wider bars and the ability to not do 150mph i like. I can't ride a sportsbike without going a bit crazy on it.
Although these days i struggle to do that because i simply cannot ride a sportsbike, i can't seem to turn/corner on one any more. They just feel, well, wrong.
I'm pretty fussy with bikes as it goes though, most bikes i ride i don't get on with at all.

Maybe that's why they are good value?weeksy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:28 amBoth/either really. Maybe they should build the bike you want, but with decent wind protection ?weeksy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:34 amFrom my perspective it's riding position, wider bars and the ability to not do 150mph i like. I can't ride a sportsbike without going a bit crazy on it.

I think arguably they do... KTM 1290 GT. You could easily argue that or even a Yamaha 900Tracer both fit that.Yorick wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:44 amMaybe they should build the bike you want, but with decent wind protection ?weeksy wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:34 amFrom my perspective it's riding position, wider bars and the ability to not do 150mph i like. A KTM badge on the XSR and he'd be happy.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:52 amI don't think he knows what he wantsYorick wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:44 am Maybe they should build the bike you want, but with decent wind protection ?

I actually do it's just that depending on what my plans are, the wants can change.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:52 amI don't think he knows what he wantsYorick wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 11:44 am Maybe they should build the bike you want, but with decent wind protection ?
However the current XSR900 really does tick 99% of the wants.

I think this is why I'll end up with a Tracer 900. I love the XSR, but I'd prefer a screen, nicer seat, bigger tank and centre stand. The Tracer doesn't look as nice, but I won't care on a long ride

Re: Best value big naked out there at the moment ?
I think they look small because the lights are set very low (like a lot of modern bikes) and it makes the rider look huge when on.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Nov 26, 2020 10:17 am I've not been up close to a new shape Speed Triple but are they really that small? I can see the Street being a bit little but is the Speed?

As a new BMW Fanboi, it would be remiss if I didn't point out that probably the BIGGEST Big Naked is the K1300R

The K1300R is one of the few bikes I consistently want....I am proper fickle, but there are a few 'regulars' I'd like to own one day.
Bimmers hold their value though!
