For trail riding I use viewranger app on an old androind phone with a plug in battery pack.

Create the route in google maps, use mapstogpx to create a gpx file.

Upload the gpx to viewranger.

Or just create the route in viewranger.

Yes, I'm old, first time I went there was in the 1980s on an LC, I used to go there quite a bit in the early 90s, which shows how dull East Anglia was as it's 110 miles from where I lived then, used to usually take 90 minutes each way, but I did it once in under an hour on an early GSXR750

Do you really need Google maps, from memory it'd be head into central London then follow the A24

That's okay once you get to Ashtead but down through Tooting and Colliers Wood is a bit shitty.

Working in Battersea today, I'm tempted to go and look at Box Hill on the way home, for anyone interested, my route from the M25 was A243, A3, then some other roads that got me to Battersea bridge, I could also go and have a look at Chelsea Bridge if I was in the mood, haven't been there on a bike since the mid 90s.

Working in Battersea today, I'm tempted to go and look at Box Hill on the way home, for anyone interested, my route from the M25 was A243, A3, then some other roads that got me to Battersea bridge, I could also go and have a look at Chelsea Bridge if I was in the mood, haven't been there on a bike since the mid 90s.

I'd swerve Box Hill and take the route through central London back to the A12.
