Thanks to "The Covid" (as my wife is now calling it) mother in law can't visit us for Xmas - our first Xmas in 16 years without her visiting, I'm not sure who's happier, me or my wife, so a quiet Xmas for us, I suspect I'll be out on my EMTB on Xmas day

So it looks like Covid is going back to China to see the parents over xmas as we are going to be allowed to mix 3 households together over the xmas period.
How considerate of covid, i don't know why everyone is so horrible to this virus, creating vaccines etc, poor thing, it's so considerate of our needs at this time of the year!

I don't think it's compulsory.
You can stay away from everyone if you'd prefer to.
That's not the point, the point is that we are being told to lockdown and do all this shit over the past 7 monthes or so then as soon as the money, sorry, xmas season comes we can all meet up again, it's all a farce and i'm fed up with it, i'm fed up with people not seeing through the ballshit.
Either the virus is a bad as they say it is and we all lockdown fully to stop the spread, or we carry on as normal and let the vulnerable people choose to isolate or not.
If the clowns in power keep letting people meet up, and the virus is spreading as much as they say, we will never get back to normal, and if it is as bad as they say they would not allow us to meet up at xmas.
I don't think we will ever get back to normality myself, and they are just pulling the wool over the eye's of the sheep, but that's a whole new thread of it's own.

'keep letting people meet up'
See that's the problem. The reality is, no fucker should be meeting up at Christmas, but the government know this is never going to happen and if the set it as a diktat
a} no one will listen
b} it's a vote killer
Why set a rule that no one will listen to, and everyone will blame you for.
When granny keels over in January, because the mongs (I got banned on FB for this) are demanding Christmas, guess who they will blame anyway...
It still amazes me anyone thinks this is some mass conspiracy for control by the government/lizards. The one thing governments DO NOT WANT, is a} fuck all income from taxes and b} paying out lots of benefits....

Whilst some may take offence and i certainly don't advocate it.... You won't get banned for it

Absolutely business as usual here mate, you have to wear a mask if you're out and about but other than that we're just back to normal.
Same here. Masks compulsory outside your home. Police are strict.
We're off shopping in a bit. Need new sandals.
