We went to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, it was touristy busy, but they were French tourists, not an English menu in sight. Beautiful place, especially if you like dobbins.
Notice you don't mention the bugs!
I've seen them carry off small children and feast on their flesh.
If you drive down/back you'll need 2 days either side to recover, which is a waste
Bilbao ferry and then a short hop across to Toulouse.
It wasn't that bad.

The camp site we stayed on had massive bug zapping towers every hundred meters and I didn't really notice them in town, maybe it was just the time of year we went.
We 'broke down' there in July/aug and had to wait 3 days to get a repair from fiat in Arles.
I have a picture somewhere of the dragon flies resting on our washing line, it was bowing under the onslaught, and something took a liking the the wife's legs, she was covered.
Nice part of the world though

Alas I've to pull the plug on our trip to France - it's just too complicated and at the current times I don't think we'll be in the right frame of mind to enjoy it as we should. Our farm accommodation is going to be sold late 2021 so there's no option for next year.

But all is not lost - there's a little 4 day trip to Jersey on the Harley which is 90% done - as long a the piggin Ferry co stands true and then a long weekend in Lincoln with a RAF Veterans Association.

Added to RTTW in October and a Remembrance Sunday overnighter in November.

And if there's some £'s in the pot come Winter some engine upgrades for the Harley. U only live once !

Thanks to everyone for their advice - it'll be saved for another year.
