They're listing the kle500 2026 as in development. So, let's see what they bring before buying owt. Delkevic goes on the same page tbh, maybe a little higher-end. GR Moto fits under both for me, their stuff looks distinctly AliExpress.

Did you send that to them ? and if so, what did they say/do ?

VFR pipes are significantly more complicated than bending up a link pipe or riveting a silencer together. But I easily see where that mess would put a fella off a brand.

You wouldn't only lose power with that, those one or two cylinders trying to fart out that hole would not be happy at all.

I emailed some pictures to the supplier, they replied that that was how they all were. I could either send it back for a refund or keep it. At the time there was either Delkevic or Motad that did replacement headers, and the Motad ones were about £250 more. So I fixed it myself. Cut the pipe off, ground out the hole and had the pipe welded back on. The headers went on the VFR that I sold to Mr Dazzle (not seen him for a while)

It's about 6/8 inches long with holes, but the inner end is blanked off so gas needs to go through these holes that would get wrapped. Iykwim.

If you want it quieter, add one of those catalyst looking baffles before the can.

I don't know, but that sounds like it would effect the performance. Only exhaust I've re-packed/wrapped, was the Micron on the track R6. That had a perforated inner tube but it was open both ends so wrapping just stopped noise/gas echoing around the can not stopping exhaust flow if that makes sense.

BW do a secondary baffle to go in the other end of can but have been told they make little difference, I don't know.

I think my idea of wrapping baffle wouldn't work, it would restrict gas flow and maybe cause other issues. Someone I know had their baffle extended, forcing gas into more can wadding and made his quieter. My baffle is about 5/6 inch long, so gas hits the blank end of baffle, bounces into can wadding and out through baffle holes. Extended baffle will make gas bounce through a longer section of can wadding and make things quieter.

This is how I understand it anyway.

You'll always lose some performance by sticking a cork up the exhaust. Potentially you can end up with something that's both more restrictive and worse sounding than stock.

Nonetheless if the noise is doing your head in, watch this. Not exactly the same engine, but in principle the same idea.



The proper answer is to buy a jmca certified exhaust from Japan. I think someone suggested that on your own thread...

Had a Black Widow copy of the YEC front pipes on my FZR400R, they worked very, very well and lasted the 30 or so trackdays I did on it.
Got a Black Widow link pipe and can on my CB1000R, its quieter and works better than the standard can and has lasted 16000 miles with no problems.

My 600 Fazer had a Black Widow. Its been fine but they bike was only ever used for short trips last summer. I swapped it over with the 1000 Fazer as that had a load Delkevic and i wanted an MOT pass. Left it on but after an hour i heed was nipping. Won a standard can for £37 on ebay what will be staying on the bike. Bloody tinnitus is bad enough.

My bikes have always had OEM exhausts fitted, and I have never seriously considered changing them. They may be lighter, but I can achieve the same result byy taking off the top box.

I got a loan bike* with an expensive can fitted (Akro iirc but might have been a Remus) from the BMW dealer. Thoroughly enjoy doing the brruum! brruum! nonsense on the way home. Wife probably heard me approaching from a mile or two away.

It cured me of the desire to fit one. It was fun for 30 minutes but the idea of living with that racket for a couple of thousand miles tour around Europe or even an hour or two pootling? Nope.

(I checked and my dick was no bigger after I handed the loan bike back over too. ).

*Some sort of unfaired K12 and it went like the proverbial.

About £600 on a Mass system, junked the faux scrambler high level exhaust, saved a chunk of weight & added some dB, still need to get it on a Dyno to smooth it out & get rid of a few pops & bangs
