Re: World Cup
If you started a thread about hating broccoli, you'd get dozens of posts about how much they love it.weeksy wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 8:53 pm And yet somehow all of you find your way into a World Cup thread to tell us time and time again you don't like the sport.
I don't like broccoli you know, I hate it and I'm never eating it again. I may start a broccolithread actually

Took a while, but France showed their class.
Mbappe is looking to be star of the show like last time, but should have been booked for the dive on dodgy penalty appeal.

The first half was bilge, 2nd half had 4 class goals well worthy of the highlights watchers, that mbappe goal was from nowhereYorick wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 10:13 pm Took a while, but France showed their class.

Re: World Cup
My regular bar is festooned with all the flags & they have a shit-ton of TV's. I was there on the 7th before any of the boredom was being played. I'll be there on the 21st, hoping there no games on that afternoon.
...bugger
Just looked, there's Iran Vs Belgium at noon here in LA & Uruguay Vs Cape Verde at 3pm (in Miami), so that's a pisser. At least I'll be outside on the patio watching the band, not inside the bar.
We've already had a bunch of cunts flying Jordanian flags from their cars block all NB lanes on the 5 Freeway yesterday. CHP had a sense of humor failure, but no arrests. The upshot of that is people who aren't normally armed in their cars, now are.

Re: World Cup
How dare anyone not like the beloved national sport eh? And there was me thinking that a forum was for people to express their opinions and thoughts? Threads wouldn't last long here if everyone agreed would they?weeksy wrote: Tue Jun 16, 2026 8:53 pm And yet somehow all of you find your way into a World Cup thread to tell us time and time again you don't like the sport.

Looking forward to the match tonight however, I really don't give a shit if they win or lose. Think as I age I've become passionate about different things than I once did.

Re: World Cup
Exactly that here as you've probably seen. Football used to massively matter in my life, but these days is mostly insignficant. I'll likely watch 1/2 half, but whether i stay up for it all, depends on the game really.Dodgy69 wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 12:47 pm Looking forward to the match tonight however, I really don't give a shit if they win or lose. I've yet to watch a game but have read more than a few complaints about "hydration breaks". They split the game into four quarters so you can see more adverts.

Re: World Cup
I feel the same way watching footy as I do any other sport, which is that I'm totally disinterested. Be it the beautiful game, watching super-fast cars go round and round in circles or people throwing themselves down mountains on skinny planks of wood.
Waste of time, innit.
