Ok, wondered if it was that, I have the damper so all good.
If you have an IL4 or a small capacity bike it will be no issue
Or a boxer engine
Are you saying V and parallel twins are crap?
Nope , just more manly

Ah, this may explain why my bloody iphone focus is refusing to focus...bugger. I just used a generic handlebar mount.

a) is there anything to be done re the focus issue?

b) can you recommend a decentish handlebar phone mount that won't break the bank?

iphone used to cover the repair / replacement but that stopped a few years ago ….
You can get ersatz quad lock stuff of ebay inc the damper mount that seem to be good quality

I know that they’re relatively expensive (although cheaper than replacing an iPhone) but I’ve had a tomtom rider 550 for over 6 years and it’s been utterly reliable in the uk and in France.

I have a TomTom550 rider, but it isn't always accurate and the screen is delaminating along the edges at 80,000 miles and 6 years

So I paid €60 on Temu for a 7 inch Android Auto screen and it is very good. Been out in torrential rain, and it is waterproof. Takes seconds to link to my phone and also to my helmet headset. Had it for about a year, and not one issue

Much better than ruining a phone on a quadlock

I cant add anything helpful to this discussion but
My brother used Quadlocks with 2 iPhones and the camera's went on both of them.
They wont focus, and in videos make a kind of electrical shock sound.

Apparently the Quadlock dampening thing is meant to help and I have never heard of Android phones breaking on Quadlocks.
