What is your assembly goo-goo muck of choice?

I genuinely would recommend the Ducati “grey” sealant (prob made by three bond) no problem to use on mag cases it releases quite easily, cleans off easily and it works

I've seen the Ducati Threebond compound on eBay, but I'd be slightly surprised if it was any different to vanilla TB. But it's OK on mag cases, which is good.

Which actual Threebond product is it? (Their website has quite a few products....)

I'd say that 1184 sounds the closest match to your requirements. This is the spec for it:

1184 Synthetic rubber, semi-drying liquid gasket Rubber type, elastic type, excellent gap filling ability and LPG resistance Typically used as motorcycle crank case sealant, for various flange and threaded applications with good gap fill for large clearance Grey 9.5 Pa.s -40 to +150°C

But that's just my best guess. YMMV.

Just buy it through Ducati, then you know you've got the right stuff

Being a miserable old codger I use wellseal. It works perfectly and stays soft so easy to dismantle. If there's also a paper gasket involved I grease one side and give a very thin coat of wellseal on the other.

Being a miserable old codger I use wellseal. It works perfectly and stays soft so easy to dismantle. If there's also a paper gasket involved I grease one side and give a very thin coat of wellseal on the other.

Depends how often I think it's going to be coming apart, Z1100R rocker box cover just gets greased, same for the clutch, alternator cover is stuck on with 3 bond, they tend to leak from the alternator cover.
