That comment aged well!
England were complacent and a mess. Despite all the England only lost because they had a bad day comments , the Scots played well and had a stonking game plan!

Despite managing two very close predictions on my own (let's not talk about the England result), I felt fortunate to receive a visit from Pythia, the legendary Oracle of Delphi. Feeling sorry for my linguistic problems last week she came to help out with the coming weekend's games. She opened with one of her famously cryptic pronouncements by saying, in strongly accented English "Those Frogs are a bit handy, eh?". I already knew that, but she was kind enough to tell me the results. Here goes...

Despite winning last week Ireland will be disappointed with their performance, but nowhere near as frustrated as England with their Murrayfield showing. One of these teams is very likely to leave Twickenham having won only one of their first three games, so a couple of sides with lots to lose and I'm reliably informed that it's the boggies that will be heading home empty handed.

Wales Scotland
Even without the all-seeing vision of an ancient Greek soothsayer I know that shipping an average of over 50 points a game over the last 6 matches is suboptimal, so Wales have a problem. Hot from their Calcutta Cup victory, the Jocks are the next visitors. Wales will be targeting the usual post England game dip in form from Scotland, so can the Taffs improve a defence last seen in France 1940 and pull off an unlikely win? No.
But closer than some think.

France Italy
Facing a team who scored 90 points in the first two games is a daunting prospect, but Italy will be looking to their impressive forwards to disrupt their lighter, but more athletic opponents. I'm told it will help, but there's no stopping that snail munching back line. LB-B will score a brace.

On Monday after Round 3 of the Six Nations my spirit guide gently took my hand and led me gently through the remains of England's broken dreams. With a sad sigh and a complete ignorance of cliches she said "There's always next year".
But first we need to finish this year's competition, so she kindly told me how Round 4 would go.

Ireland Wales
After a lacklustre first two games, the Riverdance mob found form against a poor England and claimed a record win at Twickenham (or whatever naff corporate title they're using for it). Wales found a semblance of form too, but a mix of woeful concentration, lack of depth and let's face it, lack of ability saw them log another L in the results column. Expect another shoeing.

Scotland France
Scotland kept going to the end and scraped a late victory to cheer them as they headed back over the Severn Bridge.
France... Well, what more can you say? The slightest sniff and they're away. As they will be in this game too. As an added bonus it was confirmed to me that the quite astonishing Louis Bielle-Biarrey will go over again and take his run to scoring in nine 6N games in a row.
So how will it go when Scotland have to play the Gauls and face the full 15 for a change? Not well.

Italy England
England's hopes of being in the mix for the championship was rapidly derailed by two very ordinary performances. They'll need to up the concentration levels this weekend, as well as sorting the discipline. Games are easier when you have the full compliment. Italy have flattered to deceive so far, playing well, lasting the 80, but with just one win to show for it. Can they record their first 6N win against a reeling England. Can they bollocks, only one winner of the chariot race on Saturday.
