Mine was getting through a litre of oil every 100 miles on the road when I traded it in for a Fireblade. I put 26k on it in three years.

Only ever bothered with Photos at my first ever trackday and it wasn't very heroic esp with the bib

Still lament letting my mate take the R6 and ruining it by leaving it in the garden, was a great cheap, capable bike.
They were very Japanese weren't they. They just did everything you wanted and needed from a bike, they went, stopped, turned, rode and started..
Great little things, i only had a fairly ropey one which Sunny and Muz then bought and made even more ropey.... but it just worked.
Yup, all of the R6s are absoloutely cracking bikes to ride IMO , especially around a track , with 5EBs being one of my favourites- shame about the bore issues, which is the death of a lot of them these days- try finding a decent nick 5EB engine..
Unfortunately the motor in Mofo's one pictured above was indeed properly and majorly goosed by the time I acquired it, due to his mate leaving it out in the rain for month with no plugs, tank or carbs on it, but it could be said that it is not 100% dead as bits of it are helping keep a club racer on the track, so at least parts of it are living on
Anyway, this thread is all about pics , so this is me enjoying myself on one of the first of the 2CO gen ones, back in 2007/8

Bugger

At least you managed to utilise bits of it. If you've lost on it happy to recompense.

It's probably no surprise that I make no claim to being any sort of track day hero.
However ... About 1993 at Cadwell.

Here I can only guess he's looking at the rev counter (I've done the same during road training). I only knew when shown the pic!

Cheers, top man, very good of you to say that but absoloutely no need- as I said when I bought it, I knew what I was potentially buying, and all is good

And I missed this one earlier- Final one in this thread from me, one of my most favourite ever do-it-all bikes in terms of all rounder fun

(albeit there are far better track bikes )

Yeah I was on form that day, wasn’t until I got home I realised I was decking out the exhaust link pipe and was nearly sacked for being faster than the Boss on his K1 Gixxer thou
