How about 2 threads?
One for the 3 Muppets. They can fight to the death.
And one for us ?

I voted stay, I just pick and choose what to look at. I have only one person on ignore on this forum, in fact they are the only person I've EVER put on ignore over many years and forums. That can make reading some of the threads challenging mind you, especially in the politics section

I've got the 3 usual suspects on ignore. Makes the forum much more readable.Nordboy wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 5:10 pm I voted stay, I just pick and choose what to look at. I've also put one person on ignore, I've managed over 20 and various forums of just actually ignoring people but right now it's not working - not sure if that is because they are now worse or because I just can't deal with the extra shit on top of life itself !!
I'm resisting anyone else because sometimes they post outside the politics stuff and it's interesting; the one on ignore is so bad in politics I actively avoid anything else, so, ignore button it is
I really don't understand why people can't just go with "we can agree to disagree" a bit more - I can't see that any one person can ever be "right" about politics anyway. Although sometimes they can be everso wrong !!
Hopefully everyone can be a bit more calm for a bit and things will be more along the interesting lines than the "OFFS, again???"

Re: Politics forum stay or go ?
I'm a Yes, keep it...It's a good point that without it, it might creep into other sections of the forum.
Tbh, the politics section does give us something to read when things are quiet elsewhere. If things get heated between certain people, just sit back and enjoy from the posh seats or move on.
The naughty boys do generally quote each other I think, so others can still discuss subject and quote each other, possibly maybe.

I'd say keep it, sometimes there's some useful stuff posted there and I can choose whether or not to read the posts.

Stay. Its easy enough to avoid.
Like Nordboy I've used the ignore function for the first time ever, something I never thought I'd do, but opinions are one thing, out and out rudeness to people is another. Ignore = problem solved.

I don't care either way, I never look at it so it doesn't bother me, but if it's causing Weeksy grief get rid of it

Re: Politics forum stay or go ?
I'd say for the politics section to stay, as I suspect the board would be a duller place if it was shut down, and the bile would probably then creep into other sections. But I'd support stronger, more proactive moderation as long as it was consistent and rules-based. Initially it would be more work for the mods, but those causing trouble would either mend their ways or get kicked out. Perhaps.

Keep it.
I post occasionally, hopefully to present a reasoned response to a post. It does feel as though some posters are not open to considering alternative views to their own so for some weeks I've not bothered posting - it saves time and bandwidth. I still read it though - maybe I should get a hobby, does anybody know anything about motorbikes?

Re: Politics forum stay or go ?
The poll,so far seems to suggest we are a tolerant lot in this regard.
It's a pity the politics 'discussions' don't reflect that.

We would police the forum to make sure there is nothing illegal, threatening etc.weeksy wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 4:39 pmNah, not really mate. It's the forums forum and the forum get to decide. If the mods are unhappy with the decision i'm sure they'll tell me and we'll talk about it.Skub wrote: Wed Jan 28, 2026 4:26 pm I suppose what the real question boils down to is,do Weeksy and the mods want to be bothered policing the politics board?
But this isn't now and has never been 'my' forum.
But we really shouldn’t have to with people over 35.
Re: Politics forum stay or go ?
I think if you get rid of it the poison will just appear in other places and pollute the rest of the forum.
It’s the reason I stepped back from this place, as much as I hate it, keeping it may be the least worst option, at least the trolls will be confined in a small space.

Re: Politics forum stay or go ?
I've got an ignore in place and have considered upping it by two, but the problem is the moment someone quotes them, up they pop. I don't know anywhere near enough about how the mechanism works, but this is a less than ideal solution.

Re: Politics forum stay or go ?
The way it worked on the old ZRX forum was for members to request separate access to the politics/anything goes sub forum, & once you were in you weren't allowed to be offended by anything. It was an absolute bloodbath, but arguments etc in there didn't carry over to the rest of the forums (which seems to be the case here too)
I managed to set one bloke off after he posted a pic of a rather large woman in lingerie that was stretched to the absolute limit who I referred to as "looking like a burst couch".
It turned out to be his missus.
I got several PM's along the lines of "we were all thinking it.."

You’re as sophisticated as a wilderbeast
Why don’t you post there now?
That’s not how it’s going to be here. Get used to it, or don’t.

I wasn't suggesting that this place be like that place, I was merely telling how that place was/is.weeksy wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 4:59 pm Having seen your posts about all the younger girl you could bang and your overall attitude, I’m not shocked by any of that

I stopped posting there because one of the admins would randomly delete my posts, not on the bloodbath forum, in the others. IIRC he didn't partake in the bloodbath. There was no rhyme or reason for the deletions, no pattern at all, they were completely random & none of the threads were controversial etc. It would be akin to my posts in (ferinstance) the Friday or weekend threads vaporizing.
Known the guy for over 25 years, he's been to my house, I've ridden with him, bought parts off him, always got on just fine... then he just started randomly deleting posts. It could be something as simple as me answering a guy who asked what the torque was for a particular bolt was. I'd answer, 2 hours later my post would have disappeared.
There's a FB group with 1400 ZRX guys who he's either pissed off or ripped off so it wasn't just me.

I think i remember that forum. Was it a Sub forum from the old Kawazaki one that had a UK and USA site?ZRX61 wrote: Fri Jan 30, 2026 4:54 pm The way it worked on the old ZRX forum was for members to request separate access to the politics/anything goes sub forum, & once you were in you weren't allowed to be offended by anything. I hope no one gives ZRX access to the secret "Readers' Wives" sub form.
