Well I could say that, but I know it’ll be fine as I’ve had them in my garage for 10 years and doing basically the same thing.

It’s not a probably

I remain to be convinced. Like Skub, I have a Skylift (brilliant piece of kit) and moving it round loaded on anything other than a flat hard floor gets a little bit sketchy, especialy if the bike is at the higher end of its lifting range.. If the floor surface is at all rubbery or compressible it's not a fun thing.

Hence 'probably'.

Maybe some carpet tiles are thicker than others. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Mine were secondhand off ebay. They don't give much, infact they're fairly hard to kneel on, but fine for dolly wheels ime. If they move, spray adhesive is your friend. 👍🏻

All depends on the diameter of the castors.

This thing is fucking dangerous on office tiles with a bike on it.

It's not that the carpet tiles move, it's that the castors get stuck in the tile material and you end up in danger of pushing the bike over.

Yeah, that's my concern exactly. Those castors look very similar (if not identical) to the ones on the Skylift.

Ffs, I’m the one who has the bloody things down on my floor

I’m not saying these things in blind hope and guesswork I’m using knowledge from a huge number of varied applications with the exact same requirements

Don’t get some, I honestly don’t give a damn, I was simply trying to help

Look, I really don't want to fall out over something as trivial as this. I'm absolutely certain that for your use cases carpet tiles are perfect and I can understand you wanting other people to share the benefits. I actually intend to get some and try them out as carpet beats a cold stone floor all winter long. Are we cool?

I've got that dolly. The 500 enfield used to sit on it via centre stand. Push bike by lower frame or dolly itself to fit against wall was fine, don't push by seat. 👍🏻

Yeah it'd be fine... honestly... Done it many times with bikes on paddock stands, can't imagine any reason a Skylift would be any different.
A skylift would be handling twice the weight (i.e.the whole bike, not spread over two stands), plus smaller castors. It might be OK, but it would need testing before committing to any purchase.
You can buy 10 carpet tiles for £10-12.... it's not a massive risk :)

I'm not sure how much clearer than "it'll be fine" i can be though.
That is more the coat I would like to incur
