I think riding any bike sorta half regularly will help to avoid lots of running issues.Le_Fromage_Grande wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 9:19 pmMine has Mikuni RS34s, I think I'd rather have fuel injection as it hardly gets ridden and modern fuel gums up the pilot jets, I drain the carbs every time after it's run but it still has problems.

The only thing I can see that needs taking care of is the edge of the wheels will need a strip/polish to match the ZRX/ZX11's wheels. It's a non-negotiable must do.

Apparently Toyota injectors are a possibility.KungFooBob wrote: Fri Dec 19, 2025 9:23 pm Would a modern EFI setup work better, make more BHP?
Stick a set of GSXR1000 throttle bodies on it and a Megasquirt ECU.

Sod trying to get more power out the thing. My 750 was forever wanting to throw me off at speed. The chassis probably wanted braced more and front end changed as the stanchions were only 37mm. The 11 looks no wider

It's more a case of the DFI system shitting the bed & OEM gubbins not being available. I think the forks may be 38mm, I know they increased by 1mm around that time.Felix wrote: Tue Dec 23, 2025 1:13 am Sod trying to get more power out the thing. I think the forks are 37mm, they went down a mm from the gpZ1100B (Z1000J), if I could be arsed I'd have a look in the workshop manual I've got for the J engined bikesZRX61 wrote: Tue Dec 23, 2025 8:22 pmIt's more a case of the DFI system shitting the bed & OEM gubbins not being available. Re: '83 GPz1100 A1...
This was my intentions of my 750. Front and back from a ZXR400. Front end was just a case of pressing the stem out and into the ZXR. Back end was a straight swap.
Never did get round to it so just ratted the bastard. It was 100% standard when i got it from Strappy.

Re: '83 GPz1100 A1...
94 miles from his house to mine. 5 North is closed for a truck wreck & not expected to open until 11am... then there's another section before the wreck that is flooded & down to one lane.
So his nav doodad is sending him on a 121 mile route/detour.
We're under a severe weather warning & also flash flooding going on.

The wreck on the 5 was a collision between two FedEx big rigs...

He's from Manchester so probably riding there and walking back.

WooHOOO!!! (it showed up on a trailer) Clearcoat needs some attention (side covers only, rest of the paint is fine), but nothing I can't sort.
