I’m off to see it on Friday. If it’s in good condition I’ll buy it. I’m not worried about small differences between models to be honest. It’s 3 grand bike after all 😂

I’ve had a few over the years, various 9r models but never the B.

Cracking all round bike, it’s worth a punt.

Interesting MOT history, done similar milage every year to my hoard of unused bikes.

I like the fail for having the front tyre fitted the wrong way.

It's odd that it's was taxed for a year last month, just to sit at dealers?

Lol, I saw the warning for the front tyre too. I did the same on my vfr but spotted it before the mot but only because I put the wheel on backwards and the abs triggers wheel was on the wrong side.

It’s astonishing it’s got to this age with one owner.

I'm guessing the owner is probably the owner of the car dealership and it's his personal bike, why else tax it?

It belongs to the guy who does the paint for the dealer and the dealer has it in the showroom for a favour. The owner has given up motorcycling due to she is my understanding.

I’ve no idea why it’s taxed.

I had a c2 and thought it better than my 919 blade in every way. But mine had reworked suspension and i believe changing the rear shock on them was the game changer?

A common mod was to fit a 12r shock as that would raise the rear ride height allowing it to tip in more quickly, you could also do the same with the F shock but the 12r was the better option.

I had a red/black E1, bloody quick in a straight line. Ok round corners, especially if you got an Ohlins shock to replace the rubbish stock unit. Form adjusters at the bottom of the fork legs seize easily and are apparently a bit of a bugger to sort. I always fiddled with mine regularly but they still got a bit sticky occasionally.
The only downside is they make you want a wee, some weird vibe on mine made long distances very boring as you’d want a wee every 30 mins. Usual Kawasaki hideous plating.

Regular Valve clearance checks are a must as well as apparently the cans have steep lobes that hammer the shims if engine runs at high recs a lot mine needed about 4 doing at the first valve service.

Off to see it on Friday and agreed a decent price. Pretty excited to be honest, finding stuff like this in the classified is way better than signing on the dotted line on a new bike. Can always sell it in the spring if I don't like it.

I had a 98 ZX9R C1 back in the day,it was a great all rounder bike. I did several 600+ mile days and track days,which it all did with no fuss. A fast engine for it's day,but the R1 stole it's glory. My suspension and seat were non standard. Ohlins rear shock,revalved forks and a gel insert in the seat. Point of notice..the seat was the hardest of any bike I've ever owned. It was torture after 90 miles. Maybe the E models had a better perch,I don't know,but I went to a GSXR1000K3 next and the seat was bliss in comparison!

As has been mentioned,they do suffer from carb icing. This happened most on murky cold days after holding the throttle wide for a few miles,not icy cold days as some would think. Great on the juice too. I run around Scotchland with two Blackbirds and they filled up a lot more frequently than I did.
