Trek eBike

Would you ? They're a long way off my list as they're very very new to the game, the geometry is a bit meh and their aftersales is very much open to debate yet... Add to that the fact 120Nm of torque seems pointless to me.

Don't reckon I've even used 50 of the 85Nm available to me on my Orbea Wild yet... Probably don't use more than 35-40 most of the time...

It's not the point of an eBike for me... MOAR POWARRRR might appeal to some, but I couldn't care less on an eBike for the way I ride them.

Geometry does look a bit better than I first feared on the DJI Avinox to be fair though... First pics, it looked a little short, upright and potentially flexy... Reach of 475mm in Large along with 445mm stays, a 64.5deg HA etc. makes it a bit more contemporary than I feared it might be...

Though it does look like it'll be as flexy as a Levo SL or my Carbon Rise was... Fine for lighter riders, but I'm 95kg and not the smoothest of riders...

My Trek is a Tonka Truck of a thing. But I am no sylph myself. I decided to weigh it the othet day and was plesantly surprised when it came in at 25.5 kg for the XL. And that is with heavyweight tyres

Ideally E-bikes at 19-20 kg would be the sweet spot I guess.
After riding the eeb manual bikes frot end seem very flighty, even with slack head angles. Hence it suggests ebikes are a tad "deader". That said I can go down hills way faster on the Trek !

I've never timed myself on the Rise, but it feels faster on plenty of trails than manuals. I don't know what my Rise weighs but it's a chunk less than Crusts Rail, I know this as I was lifting it yesterday to swap rear wheel. I'd guess 21 roughly.

On the Trek, yes.

I would have thought so- my Bird Aether 9 (I think that's what I've got) is a large. The Giant before that was large.

I was advised that if you're 6'4" territory that was more large, but appreciate the views. Certainly helps give me more choice

Different places may not sell you a sale bike on C2W or charge you for the process.
You may get lucky though.
If you do, you'll save about 40%

The odds of getting a bike that's 40% off and the save 40% of that, I'm not sure.

Just rode the large Trek 8. Plenty big enough- XL will be too big for me

C2W = +5% total RRP (includes sales)

Trek 9.5= Trek 5, 9.8= 8. Just the carbon versions. I think someone said that already here though. For now. the Trek 8 looks like the one for me

Ordered the Trek Rail 8. Appreciate it's got faff with battery charging. Won't be available until January


The cycle to work scheme works on discounted bikes with no added premiums. Chucked in a helmet. The scheme forecast I'll save nearly £2k which I'm really pleased about


Now I'm debating whether to keep the Bird which has barely been ridden
