Re: utterly random picture thread.
You'd be wrong there's a very strong connection.
I've been asthmatic since I was 2, when I was 15 I started my smoking career ending up as a 40 a day Marlboro smoker, used to get through 1 inhaler a month, since switching to vaping my lung health has improved vastly, the ashtma nurse supports it, my docotor supports it, 1 inhaler now lasts me 6 months plus.
So yes vaping has helped me improve my health.

It's still the lesser of two evils though Shirley? Wouldnt quitting altogether be the best bet?MrLongbeard wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 11:52 amYou'd be wrong there's a very strong connection.

Believe it or not, people who are addicted to something don’t find “quitting altogether” the easiest thing in the world to do.Taipan wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 12:04 pm It's still the lesser of two evils though Shirley? Wouldnt quitting altogether be the best bet?

Yes and no.
Yes, because obviously anything you stick in your lungs can cause issues, but then with air pollution is it any worse? I suppose we'll find out later down the line, and I'd sooner have some fun whilst I can than worry about it when I can't.
No, because there are some remarkable studies afoot that suggest nicotine can be a helpful substance when it comes to treating age related mental disorders (Parkinson's & Alzheimer's etc). Nicotine itself is not that bad of a substance when you take it away form all the other crap they throw in tobacco.
Either way my long term plan was / is to quit altogether, I used to vape @ 36mg/ml to first get off smoking, I'm at less than 3mg/ml now, and with 250mL of 72mg/ml nicotine left it's a decision I don't need to make for another 13 months.
Or I could get run over tomorrow, I mean I won't cause I ain't going out tomorrow but you never know, maybe one of the Chinooks that's flying around lately could drop out of the sky and flatten the house.

You like to think you're immune to the stuff, but it's closer to the truth to say you can't get enough. Might as well face it.JackyJoll wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:15 pmBelieve it or not, people who are addicted to something don’t find “quitting altogether” the easiest thing in the world to do.Taipan wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 12:04 pm It's still the lesser of two evils though Shirley? A burnt coil will cause that, I don't notice when it happens to mine but my wife lets me know.Mr. Dazzle wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:40 pmMy mate is into all these different vapes - honestly, to me they all smell like burning engine coolantCan you genuinely tell the difference?
I use a menthol flavour as it's the most generally inoffensive one I could think of.

Hell yes, I usually have about a dozen different flavours in rotation, coffee ones, nut ones, sweet ones, menthol ones, fruit ones, weird onesMr. Dazzle wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:40 pmMy mate is into all these different vapes - honestly, to me they all smell like burning engine coolantCan you genuinely tell the difference?

Not so. It's dead easy. I did it hundreds of times.JackyJoll wrote: Wed Apr 13, 2022 1:15 pm

Quitting's easy, it's the not starting again that's difficult.
