Now let's address "effective". They were so effective that you had to have a vaccine "passport" to enable you to mingle with other vaccinated people. If you're vaccinated with an effective vaccine you don't care if other people are vaccinated or not, you're protected. So EITHER they were/are effective and you don't care if other people are vaccinated OR they are ineffective and you do care. Which one is it?

As I understand it, one of the reasons it takes 10 years or so to get approval for a new drug is to find out if there are any unpleasant side effects that only show up after several years. No amount of skipping the queue will get you 10 years of that kind of data in 10 months.
