Longer run up but with only 5 hours to go there are only 32% of tickets sold, and as they've said they don't start making any profits until 75% ticket sales I reckon the idea has had it's last outingTaipan wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 7:20 pmYeah, I agree. i used to buy tickets for things i'd like to own, but now its hard to not go for the big cash alternatives.MrLongbeard wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 6:03 pmIt bombed last week apparently, hence this tweaked format to offer cash alternatives on all the cars, which for me defeats the purpose of sites like RC, if I wanted to gamble for money it's far simpler to sign up for any of the million and one online casinos, the prices being cars or tech or whatever is their whole USP.Taipan wrote: Thu Mar 06, 2025 5:56 pm

100% not... lol. I'm not sure i'd take it if the cash value was only 50% of the priceTaipan wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 7:27 am As this v12 Aventador comes with £10k towards running costs, wouuld you dare take it instead of a cash alternative?
LOL that would be the other task... i think i'd get in it... but they may find me there about 4 years later.Taipan wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 7:33 am Not even sure I could get in and out of it, but as Mrs Taipan has canned our campervan in europe holiday and i'm going to be stuck here all summer, i might go for it!![]()

How £much is the cash alternative? If it was easy to sell on - quickly - I'd think about taking the car and driving it for a couple of days...but probably not if the cash alternative is reasonable.
They haven't put a cash alternative it on it yet, but its probably £175k or more?Count Steer wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 7:57 amHow £much is the cash alternative? Hmm. Didn't they stop making them in 2022? A lot is going to depend on mileage and spec (and service history etc...might have been somebodies track days carTaipan wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 9:33 amThey haven't put a cash alternative it on it yet, but its probably £175k or more?Count Steer wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 7:57 amHow £much is the cash alternative? Yes, but they are one of the last of the naturally aspirated big CC engined supercars. Later supercars went to less CC but with bi-turbos etc. A good pedigree s/history always helps get top money, but the numbers of these is limited, and the sort of person that has that much cash to buy one, will normally take on any bills regardless. Hard thing to value TBH...Count Steer wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 9:47 amHmm. Didn't they stop making them in 2022? I think one of the best ways to have an occasional day or two in a bit of driving exotica was the club system. Don't know if it's still going but there used to be one where, depending on how big a subscription you paid, you got so many days a year in some rathercars that they had a fleet of. (There was a similar thing with motorbikes locally but they were more 'classics*' than modern things. I think the guy that did it was a compulsive

Will the extra weight of those electric motors slow it down though?Mr. Dazzle wrote: Tue Mar 25, 2025 11:40 am Never fear, the car which replaced the Aventador (the Revuelto) also has a 'kin massive NA V12Just with a few leccy motors attached too.
