I have some CDs that I find unlistenable for more than a couple of tracks,a wall of overmastered,compressed sound very tiring on the ears. One of the Killers albums springs to mind.

It's actually weirder than that – it controlled a fan in the chimney to get it to draw! Since removed to have a stove, chimney liner and wind-powered fan, but the controller was left.

I probably don't follow all the US news as much as you do of course, but I very much doubt anyone in Congress 'celebrated' the shooting. Happy to be proven wrong..

Hmm... what you're saying didn't happen in any shape or form though, did it?

From what I've now read and seen, a minute's silence started and then far-right loudmouth Lauren Boebert started shouting about demanding spoken prayers instead because silent prayers don't work. There was then various murmuring and argument as various Dems pointed out that none of this silence/praying stuff ever happened when Dems got murdered or there were school shootings (inc one that morning), at which point some Republican started screaming that 'YOU ALL FUCKING CAUSED THIS!'

So, to be incredibly generous, I'd say there was some disruption that was 50/50 both sides. A more objective view might be that Boebert caused it all.

But whatever your take, to insinuate that 'Democrats celebrated the shooting' by answering back to Boebert is disingenuous to a pretty outrageous level. It just didn't happen.
