Listening to the "brass band" zoom recording of my daughters primary school xmas "show", thinking how pleased I am that COVID measures means I don't have to sit through 30mins of this fucking brass band..... holy hell.... the music teacher deserves a frigging medal....

YAY for something good covid has done... killed Peter Sutcliffe and saved me from from enduring that hell...

I don't miss the school plays and concerts a bit. Bad dad I know, but they were shite.

My mate and I were sat watching one a good few years back. After one of the songs I leant over to him and said, 'First to stop clapping loses'.

I think we both kept going for a minute after everybody else had stopped before he caved in. :D

People must have the 'right to offend' without facing a police investigation

Two judges have struck a blow to enemies of free speech after ruling people should have the right to offend and even abuse each other without facing a police investigation.

Presiding over a Court of Appeal case concerning the misgendering of a trans woman on Twitter, Lord Justice Bean and Mr Justice Warby ruled that “free speech encompasses the right to offend, and indeed to abuse another”, adding: “Freedom only to speak inoffensively is not worth having”.

They said it would be a “serious interference” with the right of free speech if “those wishing to express their own views could be silenced by, or threatened with, proceedings for harassment based on subjective claims by individuals that felt offended or insulted”.
Quite.

I notice you didn't claim to be 'working' for 20 years.

Some random event which happened in the state of Michigan makes you glad that you're "out of the rat race"? Lost me there.

I was talking to my sister. She said that something would suit some little old lady and she didn't realise what she'd said until I reminded her that she's 5 foot nothing and 73 years old. The quintessential little old lady. :D

Seeing views like this, even when things seem bad, it's still gorgeous here!

(Photos aren't great - hanging out of the window holding a phone!! LOL)

The hills look OK. It's a shame somebody has dumped some left over "architecture" from Basildon in the way.

Yeah. Architecture in this part of the resort is not their strong point :(. Even though that building is only about four years old  At least I can still see Mont Blanc - when they started building I was a bit worried they’d block my view completely!!!

You have great views Noggin! I was always torn between mountains and the sea and we considered living in Austria a long time ago. Back in 2000 I was talking to my doctor and told him that Preston and the UK in general wasn't 'home'. He asked me where home was and I said "I don't know but there'll be hills or mountains on one side and the sea on the other." "You might want to go and find that place then." he suggested.

A few years later, here on holiday for the umpteenth time my missus said "Let's come and live here". It was a no-brainer. Hills on 3 sides and the sea to the east - it's home. I still love the mountains, seeing them, being in amongst them but trips will do. The local hills are fairly tough going but without the altitude which is hard work anyway so it's all good. I doubt I'll climb any more mountains though . . . well, maybe one more. :D

But the sea won overall, it's less effort! :D

I was lucky to find this place when I did TBH. I had always thought the sea was where I needed to be. But as soon as I came here I realised that it's all about the mountains!! I knew within the first 48 hours here that I needed to live here!
I still love the sea, but this is where I need to live! (But actually up here, not in the valley!! LOL) xx

Our main priority was a sea view. I walk along the prom several times a week.

On some volcanoes we go up on the dirt bikes, we can see the sea in all directions.

Well. I messed up some flights. My nephew was supposed to be arriving tomorrow and a few weeks ago we agreed to postpone as the lifts aren’t open and my place is way too small for a teenage boy to be locked in with his aunt and not the normal gaming stuff!!

I forgot to change the flights (my brian has been struggling recently) and missed the 14 day cut off

So today I went online to see if I could find a number to call and hope that someone would have sympathy due to the borders being closed

Bonus - they cancelled tomorrow’s flights and allowed me to change tomorrow’s and the return for free!! Woohooo

Insignificance is relative I guess. But it made me happy!!! :D

This island :)

Last night we chilling outside with a couple of pals and we heard lots of sirens in the distance. A very rare occurrence so it seemed something big.
Then they got closer and we saw them coming down our road. Lots of police lights and sirens!!!

No need to panic. About 10 police cars escorting loads of trucks with kids on the back.

Over here 3 Kings is the big day and last night was 3 Kings eve.

Gonna go out later and tonight to look for more celebrations and parades.
